Time and gut shots will tell... I was wrong on the Memory Man w/ tap tempo when I didn't think they'd use 3005s... then I was kinda right as they had to stop doing that due to fakes.

It's pretty easy to internally change the voltage.

I have some chips here that take 5VDC and bump it to a bipolar 12VDC without any extra components.

Why this stuff isn't used in pedals, I'll never know.

Interesting... what's the chip and mA output?

Yeah they could use a charge pump of some sort but intuition tells me they're not, why design for out of production chips when there are perfectly good ones that work on a lower voltage.

Even if the new one doesnt sound the same I'd be interesed. I have a poly chorus RI and an old echo flanger and theyre different flavours of the same thing, I'd actually like the new one to have some character of its own.

Been wanting / wondering when an XO would come out, more pedalboard space :)

So finally some news popping up.

I saw a post by Bill Ruppert (Studio guy, EHX demo guy) who's been rocking the Big Box Polychorus since the 70's, claims to prefer the new XO, claims it sounds "amazing!". Also noted that power has been reworked like the rest of the Big Box stuff that's been converted to XO enclosures but beyond that, the circuit remains the same. Best of all, the clock noise that many of the old units suffered from has been addressed, dead silent homies! Demos should be out soon.

I got an email from Analogman that they have one PC XO in stock. I'm waiting on GC so I can utilize my friend's employee discount. Shouldn't be long now

Just picked up an XO and this shit whines WAAAYYYYY worse than my RI big box. Possibly a issue with the calibration on my pedal specifically but if you push the tune/delay or width knobs anywhere past 12 o'clock it produces the most annoying high pitched, swarm of insect clock whining I've ever heard from any pedal, ever. Totally unusable.

Most likely an isolated incident as I can't imagine EHX sending 'em all out like this. Regardless, I'm going with the new Mid-Fi Pitch Pirate Deluxe. About done with EHX, for realz!

That sucks. Are you not going to try and exchange it for another one?
