there is more sunn stuff here than anywhere else
it is a portland (tualatin) company

Another good brand to look into is Sovtek. My Mig100H is a high-gain Marshall clone that I snagged a few years ago for like $450. Real dark sounding beasty.

so right now, I am set on ordering a 8 ohm Emperor Cab with 2 12".
I have looked all this weekend into tube heads, not too many out now but I am going to wait it out at least until I get an email back.
If I cant find what I want I will go with a solid state, so that means a trip up to seattle at bass nw

I like tubes because when I go loud the make fuzzy sounds. Tube amps compress naturally and are much more musical in the changes in volume. Solid state would get the job done if you aren't going to be making dynamic changes in volume.
And my SVT handles low end very well. I am using an 8x10 too, make want you want of that, less bass or more. But when I bang out root-fifth chords on that thing things fall off shelves and walls. When I turned my Pharaoh full on with the SVT at noon, my eyeballs literally shook in my face. It was frighteningly loud. It sounded like a screaming Viking on fire.
My vote for a 2x12... 100-200 watts. Look into Hiwatt and Reeves first! I'm desperately wanting to try one. If you aren't into them get the Orange or a V4.

Soooo.
I only have 3 hours of sleep in me.
I sent an email on craigslist to see a Ampeg v4. I remember playing a Ampeg B2RB at trade up music however it was way too expensive and in shittier conditions than most of the amps I have seen for sale.
Emperor sent me back some interesting prices, the turn around is still a month.
Also going to try and check this out too
