You're making me reconsider selling my Sunn columns. Just sold the amp I was using so that means...

If you're looking to sell those columns, I have a sunn sceptre that might be interested in roaring through them.

BTW I'm so glad to have found a forum with sunn love rampant. I know almost no one in person that has ever seen one till they've seen mine

They were rare as hell during my time in Chicago - they just didn't make it out that way.

We got all the shitty Silvertones and various Supro junk etc.

I know, I got mine in Texas... but I did find a matched 412 in Milwaukee that was mint minus the cracked feet in the side to lay it over. $10 rubber feet and it's now perfect again.

Hey man either keep them or I'll drive out there. You sold your Yamaha, you mean?!

Love that gif, too. Janus + SLM.

I sold the kvlt power amp I was using with them. Overload dude said he would hit me up in a few weeks to *probably* buy them from me, but you have dibs if you're seriously considering it.

If IM doesn't grab them we can talk, but shipping would be expensive as fuck.

Ah right--I thought maybe you were just using them as extension cabs for the Yamaha (assumed you weren't really up to much with the Peavey, since you sold it off).

Perhaps we can just come up with a DBZ-style fusion to combine your columns with my PA/head to form the ultimate kvlt combo?

Somewhat related, but per the 'the spite' thread and Invisible Man selling his tube amp to fund the SS Amp...I have finally reached a verdict and I strongly prefer my SS Harke over my tube amp...the Harke was half the price too...

I am using a Hartke Transient Attack Model 3500. I like it because it is small, yet highly tweak-able and loud! It is a 'bass amp' but I plug my guitars, synths, and tabletop stuff into it and adjust the eq, contour accordingly. I think it sounds great and is conducive to my small bedroom set up. I like it better because I feel to get the most out of my tube amp, it has to be cranked all the way up which is too loud for me. My tube is a Vox AC15, and I do like it, but I "like to use" (as opposed to need, or want) odd pedal setups and the Hartke 'seems' to handle my penchant for having things go wrong better. Also, not wild about the low end on the Vox compared to the Hartke but that is a speaker/size/physics thing.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. I can make no claim that I actually know what I'm talking about. For context, I use a 2X10 cab with this.

thanks for the information a lot, i had never heard of or seen these before. They seem like they have a pretty cheap price too which is nice. I looked at the newer models and they have a switch on the back for 110-240V power also, which is great for me here. I have been looking at SS amps to use for both bass and guitar, so this could maybe do it for me in the future. Have you used any of the other models? Are there any huge differences between them? Also are they pretty heavy for weight?

p.s. I also have a tube amp (ibanez tsa30) that i love for guitar, but have been looking for a bass head that could also work with guitar too for recording and just for practising too (and for carrying to play that isn't too heavy). I love the sound of the tsa30 when recording, but like you said, you really have to turn it up to get it to start breathing.
