For years people told me, "just give U2 a chance" and I tried I really tried, but I just don't get it.
Exact my opinion too.
Edge is just lhame: playing, Sound and effect usage...
But whatever my jazzbass is offset and a nice counterpart to my jm.

In that other thread I didn't count mine because of this, it just didn't sound right. But then I thought about it and it's clearly an offset. Which means all my guitars are offsets yeahh.

the fender bass by klaus blasquiz page 16:
The body has a new <<offset waist body >> in the same style inaugurated by the jazzmaster which gives it an aerodynamic line well adopted to the << conquest of space >>. Even though the jazz bass was coupled with the jazzmaster, it was introduced at exactly the same time as the jaguar.

I'm thinking about buying my first offset but I can't decide which one.
This:

Or this:

When it comes to offsets there are just so many options.

Again the br00tality overtakes the offsettiness, so they count as "metal guitars" rather than "offset guitars".
They're like...brootsets. Axesets. Offkvlts.

With that reasoning I'd say the bassness of a Jazz bass actually overtakes the offset guitarness , making it an offset bass, but not a guitar at all. So even if you want to reason it being a bass guitar I'd still say nay. A J-Bass is not an offset guitar.

So, for either of these to be offsets I have to switch out the pickups?
Which pickups should I use for maximum offsetiness?

Agreed. Way too much bass to be offset or guitar.
I think the term "offset guitar" is similar to the term "indie rock".
It started out as a literal description for a guitar with an offset waist(waste). Now is generally used to describe a certain type of guitar...Jaguar, Jazzmaster, Mustang etc. "Indie rock" started out as a term used to describe independent rock music and now generally refers to a certain genre of music, independent or not.
None of this changes the fact that a Jazz Bass is not a guitar.
We just need to start a new site:
