That's a good 'un.
Mhm. I got a Creepy Fingers clone as my first fuzz pedal, and I doubt it'll ever leave me.
The old ones are really cool - the fuzz is pretty girthy, but it has some real give to it - kind of squishy, even in octave mode. Difficult to describe, I guess.
Yeah, it's almost, barely like a muff, but more defined, and a lot fuzzier, and the octave just blasts it into a way different field than any other octave fuzz I've ever heard.

Tone Machines are awesome without a doubt. I have a Dano French Toast (their little SMD clone), and I want a real, well-built big box clone of a Tone Machine sometime soon. Maybe with footswitchable octave. Mmmmmmmmmm...

Footswitchable octave sounds like a good idea but the volume difference would make it pointless!

Not gonna surprise anyone with this, Eau Claire Thunder. Because it roars, it "cleans up" and it makes noise. I often have a "lead" fuzz on my board, with the idea of using it for solos, but I always just end up using the thunder and wah.

Well I've never bothered to clean it up
But I must agree, plenty of tonal options and it has a feedback loop, I definitely could survive off of mine

Not sure what you're talking about here.

never noticed a volume difference.

Probably my DE VFM or Test Pattern. I still need to try out some Dwarfcraft and FH though....I wouldn't be surprised at all if a Shiva or ECT became my number one fuzz.

I seriously thought about putting down my Timmy, or a SHOD. Both awesome od's.
I've always wanted to try one, but the 300$ price tag has prevented me from doing so

My 1985 small box ProCo Rat. Oddly, I don't use it right now... it's tucked away in its box in my closet.
But yep, as far as being able to do overdrive, distortion, and fuzz, this box can do it all. The "fuzz" is probably more of a super-distortion, but it can sustain like a Big Muff if needed (just not as ballsy). It can also do palm muting if necessary, but I don't really have a use for that.
Love that thing, and even though I'm not currently using it, I'm never going to let it go. If it ever turns out that I am only permitted to use one fuzzbox, it will be the Rat.

I had one and the octave side had a lower volume

I had the CB version. Shouldn't be any difference in the circuit. Only assembled on a PCB instead of on perf board for quicker builds. They use different enclosures too. I really regret selling it, but I sold it to a bff so it's not like I couldn't go over to his house and play with it. I plan on getting another one once I get some other sections of my board finished off. That pedal sounded so good.
