Nobody will mistake a fuzzface for a muff, but once you get into muff vs muff it's a lot of opinion/conjecture.
This man speaks the TRUTH!
Hmmmmmmm.... some people compare the Fuzzy Lady to Muff

I just hear a lot of things about the bypass being bad and them not being built so well. Plus they are freaking expensive... why would so many people want a builder to make one if the originals were so perfect?

the switches in them are weird so if they do break your fucked but, that is a rare occasion. the rarity and price is one of the main reasons for the boutique crowd picking them up but, if you hunt you can find them for less then the boutique clones.

Well the value is not going down so why don't you buy one and try it out? If you don't like it resell it and get your money back. At least then you'll have a good foundation for future comparison.
For future reference, if you go on a forum called "I LOVE FUZZ" and ask a question (of people who have had experience with most every production Fuzz in the world) like "What's the best Green Muff" and the majority of the responses are " The best Green Muff is the Russian Big Muff Green Muff" and you don't get any responses saying "The Russian Big Muff Green Muff Sucks". Why do you, the original knowledge seeker, continue to find a reason that the Russian Big Muff Green Muff is not the best Green Muff? Buy what every you want, but don't ask for information and then refute the information you receive. If you don't value ILF's collective opinion, ask the question somewhere else.
Sorry for the rant and Happy Easter.

Lets see... I have five muffs and had a BBM which I traded for a much more extreme, brutal and evil... ukulele....

I didn't notice a price. You can check out my sale/trade thread and see if there is a deal that can be worked out.

I bought a whole bunch of green muffs a few years back. Here's what I found (ymmv and all that):
The green bubble font sounded trebly and not good, the same as the black one, not at all what I would deem desirable.
The 2 civil wars I got sounded massive with huge bass. Sounded really good.
The best to my taste was the tall font green russians which have this vocal kind of roaring quality. Its sort of like a saying "ahhh" but with more Oh!
That is a bad description....
The treble, even up full isn't that bright. All the clones I've heard sound fizzy, not buzzy, like a real tall russian.
Only problem is they are in some respects excellently made, cables all bundled neatly, but the switches to to fly apart and the jacks on the board
are a disaster. Not really roadworthy.
Anyway, as an aside; all these clones don't seem to capture the jet engine rawness of the good muffs. And the sound clips provided are always lame leady noodling crap.
It makes me think that most of these cloners are chasing some aspect that I don't dig. There are plenty of better lead pedals out there, but nothing roars like a green muff (or civil). To me the sound is about massive bar chords, not evh style wailing.
I actually have a wren and cuff tall russian on order. I'll post my observations. If I can get a camera I'll post a youtube comparison.
Thanks for your patience!

Yeah it is that "jet engine rawness" that I liked in the beat to crap Tall Font that I played. A great sound that is not quite like anything other that I have played.
I am getting a Wren and Cuff Phat Phuk and I have heard great things about their Tall Font. I wonder if maybe they can capture that roar in a more reliable package than the original.
