Any updates? I can't wait for this, and I'm thinking this will help me simplify my dirt needs. :) Sounds great!

Ryan,
In this setup, it sound like a Marshall JCM 2000 to my ears.
With the otther clipping option, could you get a Fender Twin type of sound with a lot of grit? (hmmmm!!! that would be nice to have both sound in one pedal).

HOT! (can't believe I just now saw this thread)

Wow, you got two pairs of LEDs clipping. Looks like they are in two different gain stages based on the variance in light output. Nice!

I gotta get me some more pcb-mount pots for breadboarding like that.

Thanks guys!

Sorry for the lack of updates with this pedal lately.. we've been scrambling to pay for all the stuff we have going on right now like the Tremolessence pcbs and boxes and the next mini-RRR boxes, it's been a big grind for the last couple weeks.

The Elements is basically ready as far as I'm concerned.. I've ordered the boxes and am just waiting for the first article drilled box. The pcbs are only a few weeks away at any time since I'll be populating them myself. It's just a matter now of approving the boxes and Tanya doing up the first artwork layout.

As for what all amps the Elements can sound like.. I don't know, I'm sorry! I've only owned 2 amps since 1997, a Triple Rectifier and a Blues Junior. I don't have really good direct knowledge about amp sounds, not enough to be able to say if the pedal sounds like anything in particular. I'm not really trying to sound like any amps or anything like that with the Elements either, it's just what I consider to be a well rounded distortion pedal. I can only hope it sounds as good as the Spyder, but hey, that's the goal of all pedal designers.

Pcb pots rule for breadboards! Same with pcb toggle switches and pcb Neutrik jacks.. I super glue the jacks into the breadboard, they're on the right side of the board in that video, maybe not visible.

So for the clipping LEDs, you got it right, there's two gain stages and each gain stage has the same LED configuration. On the three way toggle switch for clipping, the middle position is open as in no diodes at all for both gain stages, the top position is two red LEDs per gain stage and the bottom position is a blue LED and a 1N4148 per gain stage.

I have a boxed up prototype now that sounds good and is ready for more demo videos but it's just been a work fest around here.. soon though!
