Yeah Swervies !!! I saw them in the 90's and a few years ago in Austin and they are two of the BEST shows I ever seen  Fuckin LOVE Swervedriver... Same lineup some 15 years later and they still killed... 120 minutes used to rule too...
I am so buying a Jazz and not the Jag I've always wanted... Jazz = heavier..

The Sea and The Bells rules!! They were amazing when they were touring this record, sepia toned super 8 films of old sailing ships projected on giant billowing sheets, BEST PERFORMANCE I'VE EVER SEEN! :omg:
toured with victory at sea and did a one off show opening for pj harvey at 9:30 club and people were hating it!!

Loop, Rachel's and Bark Psychosis. i love this place.

and there was Rome, the post-rock band that time forgot. perhaps they were too subtle for the Thrill Jockey audience, who preferred the Tortoise approach.

Mark Ernestus and Moritz Von Oswald, nowadays known by the name of their Basic Channel record shop in Berlin, totally transformed the world of electronic dance music over the course of about a dozen 12" singles in the early 90s, which have been more or less compiled (with some painfully egregious edits on the first disc) on a pair of CDs. your minimal techno, dub-techno, and glitch all begin here. if you really care about this sort of thing you'll want the 12s, which go in and out of print depending on when the BC guys feel like doing pressings. but then, if you really care about this sort of thing you probably already have some of the 12s, or know about them already.

Ha ha benny, yeah the excitement of you mentioning this show pulled me out of the lurking shadows...plus maybe ILF needs some more Queenslanders. I've got tix to the Zoo show as well, gonna surprise my wife by just turning up with her there...SWD and MBV were two bands I unaccountably missed in Brisbane back in the day, thanks for sparking a little nostalgia trip with that clip! Will check out the Toshack Highway too...heard his latest Bolts of Melody album but it seemed a little tame...
