Yeah, envelope filters, those critters scare me a little. At least my Prometheus does, cause I get the feeling I can't control that beeeeyatch. It does some other things that I like a lot but the envelope filter settings are mostly wtf. I play like plinki-plonk and nothing happens and then suddenly outta nowhere it goes WHOOOSH and that freaks me out. I wouldn't ever use that under circumstances that require control of what you're doing, like rehearsal, writing, shows or jamming out.

WHAT?!? Kayzer fearing an effect? THIS CANNOT BE!!!!!!!!
Besides, you've already played with the Snazzy stuff - I would have thought you'd have a PLL or two by now.
hehe, its more like a fear of a problem with a very expensive pedal and dont have any legit warrenty but i was close buying that set of schumann stuff that was up on ebay.com a couple of month ago!

This is pretty reasonable. I'd hate to be the poor repairman that attempts to fix a fritzy PLL!

I'd have to go with Wah as well. I'm just scared I'll sound like Jimi Hendrix or Slash when I use one instead of sounding original. I had one for a bit and even used it at a concert. I just can't stand in one place like that. I feel geeky.

Don't use it for the entire song? That's too much wah anyway.
Here's another option:

Ever played a Groove Regulator?
It brings the funk.
I lack the funk. But I bring the noise.

you can always just use it as a tone filter. you get a really neat tone with a neck humbucker with almost all the tone off, mild fuzz, and the wah rocked back. its also a good way to filter harmonics in and out. thats one way to use a wah without standing in one place.

Wahs also bother me. I can't stand still for even a moment, so even a brief period of wah is too much. I haven't had much luck with envelope filters, they always seem to be triggered. Also, i'm not a fan of Boss pedals. Don't know why. Or, pedals that are intended for just distortion. They just never sound good to me, so i end up just using an OD cranked, or a massive boost pedal.

wah scares me because i don't want to "kirk hammet" our songs by using the wah in every one of them... but i think i can handle it now... i used to be a massive wah junkie in the past

then i didn't have a wah for a year and now it seems OK
i'm also scared by ring mods... i seriously haven't had a chance to try one so i don't know if they're my friend or an enemy...
(the only ringmod-ish experience was with my recently sold Green Ringer clone... but i hated not to have a chance to control the dissonance)
