It does seem strange that they have kept true to one of their best designs (the DMM), while completely changing around the design of their other great classic (Big Muff). I think it's great that they offer really cool and innovative products, but it doesn't make sense to me that they completely disregard the classic circuits of their earlier muffs.

i'm the exact opposite. i prefer functional art. things that i can both use and admire from across the room, ie: Ohnoho's Feburary One-off line, beautiful hand-carved PRS guitars, french polished mahogany furniture from the 1800's that come with plush pillows that i can sit on while playing with said guitar and one-off pedal.
i'm bored with wall art.

ehx don't need to reissue the ram's head and triangle big muffs
the vast majority of people don't care which style muff they have (and probably don't know anything about the different models) and if they do they will get a 'boutique' big muff instead
it's the same as boss not needing to reissue any of their old classic pedals
us corksniffers are a very small fraction of all the musicians out there

That actually makes a lot of sense...... plus I'm sure the "boutique pedal crew" wouldn't be satisfied unless it was "vintage" anyway.....

what they did do ...........long ago in a galaxy
......................
far away....I don't care if they use the best components. I just... one day... want to see EHX get their own pedal right....

This^
It's as if someone tried to clone the thing without paying any attention to the details.

i've never actually owned a Big Muff but i would be totally fine w/ having a Big Muff w/ Tone Wicker.

I entirely blame the Tone Stack on the Big Muffs failings... if you give it a Baxandall control with Bass & Treble controls it suddenly becomes a new beast where you have the option for mids or scooped mids and you don't have to choose between just treble or just bass on the See-Saw effect... That and for bassists, Taking out one set of diodes so it's not overclipped makes it far more useful and can easily be made switchable.
It's also a highly variable effect, some can be good, some can be bad but all use the same component values, it needs components with tighter tollerances to get them more predicable.
Back onto new EHX effects, They're just getting in on the Germanium buzz word... making modern effects with Germaniums is generally a bad idea, updating Vintage effects to modern components but retaining the magic tones is alot better... it's also going to be using new production Germaniums and from everything i've heard, they're absolutely crap.
I want EHX to produce a good Harmonizer Pedal to rival the Pitch Factor/ Harmonizer Man/ BOSS PS-2 but at a more affordable price with good simple controls, after the POG & HOG I think they could certainly pull it off well... that and a Nano Pog.

Duh
But they'd probably make it a very inconvenient size like that!
