that's hard, you really can't go wrong with any of them. You could narrow it down if you like/dislike buffers; but if you go with the 616 that doesn't matter you have both options... SDD gives you ILF cred though... and the re-20 can do that swirly oscillation effect with your foot... so it's really, what are you going to be doing with it?
haha no help

basically just going for a good solid first delay pedal. i've been into alot of "post rock" stuff, but lately i've become obsessed with Minus the Bear, even though i know Dave uses 4 Line 6 DL4's...
but i'm not a huge fan of line 6, just because i've heard things about the quality of the build sometimes.

Tom Reno of The Mercury Program is really fond of his newly acquired Nova Delay by TC Electronics because it is easy to sync delay times with other band members.
A lot of people adore the DL4 because it has a ton of features in it at a decent price. The one thing that people hate is the build quality, which is why a ton of people get them modded by Drasp (better switches, EXP control/input, better LEDs, etc.)

if those were my choices i'd definitely go w/ the RE-20. despite my latent aversion to Boss pedals.
(although i love Roland stuff i know i am a retard...

)

the re-20 sounds phenominal. my only curiosity is if it can do subtle stuff as well as crazy space noises, and if i really need a pedal that can do some of the stuff it can do.

I'd guess so. Just turn the mix and feedback down and it should be subtle for most any delay.

even though i don't have any analog delay pedals, i think i have enough delay for what i do but definitely wouldn't mind have the RE-20.

The "Input Gain" control on the RE-20 kinda sucks. I don't know how good it would be for straight and normal delays, unless your idea of delay is tape echo.
Wow, that sounded really douchy as I typed it.

I am torn between the Digitech Timebender, DD-20, and the RE-20.

if this were me personally i'd go w/ the Timebender, then the RE-20 & IDK i really can't see myself ever buying a Giga Delay. but this is me talking. i always thought the Timebender was kind of Giga Delay-esque although but i've haven't tried either one this is just based on Youtube demos...

the timebender looks fucking awesome. I especially like the dynamic delay mode and the strum multi tempo feature.

from what i've seen the timebender isn't cheap. i've had a few digitech pedals tho, and while i'm sure the higher end ones are nice, i've had some bad luck with mine...
