I. That there sounds like a Big Muff Tone Control pretty much... not too keen on them.
II. The Baxandall type I assume, or something vaguely simmilar, my favourite kind, also good if you set it up on dual gang if you only want a single control as then as opposed to the Big Muff type you keep bass as you add treble rather than the "see-saw" effect... I find them alot more useful, perhaps with a 3 way toggle to have scooped, flat & full mids... you could have 3 knobs... but I prefer 2 or 1 & the switch.

Thanks for your opinion, the tone stack will definitely keep the bass and treble independent form each other. For me, and most people hopefully, is a signal that isn't all muddied up with bass and mids. So I am fairly confident that the Burly Buzz will end up with the Bass and Treble controls. This would also be ideal for bassists who are worried about losing their low end.

Number 1 is good, as long as the aforementioned seesaw effect doesn't happen. Otherwise, the 2nd. Stacked pots are awesome.

Here is the layout for the Burly Buzz. It will be constructed out of .08" aluminum (which is the equivalent of 12 gauge). You could stomp on this thing until the hogs come home and it'd still be rockin'!

I was going to weigh in on the fuzz pedal EQ layout, but it looks like the suggestion I was going to make has already been decided
I had one suggestion about the aforementioned vibe, though. This is a little unconventional, but would it be possible to have some kind of filter/eq involved?
I.e., a knob that, at one extreme, gives a more shimmery kind of vibe (Dark Side of the Moon-era Gilmour?) and at the other gives that more "throbby" kind of vibe?
