Thanks for the input!

If you would like to bash, I can't stop you :) But if you'd be so kind to place it in a separate thread, that would be delightful :thumb:

Michael wrote:I heard about the AB ordeal. But hey, let's leave the bashing out of this thread and talk pedals :) I'd like some more input on the type of tone stacks ya'll like..

I. A single knob that is flat at 12 and boosts bass counter clock and boosts treble clockwise.
II. Dedicated Boost and Cut knobs for bass and treble
III. other (please specify)

Lay down your votes!

I. That there sounds like a Big Muff Tone Control pretty much... not too keen on them.
II. The Baxandall type I assume, or something vaguely simmilar, my favourite kind, also good if you set it up on dual gang if you only want a single control as then as opposed to the Big Muff type you keep bass as you add treble rather than the "see-saw" effect... I find them alot more useful, perhaps with a 3 way toggle to have scooped, flat & full mids... you could have 3 knobs... but I prefer 2 or 1 & the switch.

Oh and Hey Michael :hello:

Hi Scruffie!

Thanks for your opinion, the tone stack will definitely keep the bass and treble independent form each other. For me, and most people hopefully, is a signal that isn't all muddied up with bass and mids. So I am fairly confident that the Burly Buzz will end up with the Bass and Treble controls. This would also be ideal for bassists who are worried about losing their low end.

Number 1 is good, as long as the aforementioned seesaw effect doesn't happen. Otherwise, the 2nd. Stacked pots are awesome.

Sorry to double post, but.....

Here is the layout for the Burly Buzz. It will be constructed out of .08" aluminum (which is the equivalent of 12 gauge). You could stomp on this thing until the hogs come home and it'd still be rockin'!

- Powdercoated .08" (12gauge) aluminum enclosure. You could stomp on this thing until the hogs come home and it'd still be rockin'!
- White Pointer knobs
- Waterclear white LED
- Chrome Bezels
- Neutrik jacks.

5" Wide x 4" Deep x 1.5" Tall

I realize I'm a little late to the party, but welcome to :ilf:
I was going to weigh in on the fuzz pedal EQ layout, but it looks like the suggestion I was going to make has already been decided :thumb:
I had one suggestion about the aforementioned vibe, though. This is a little unconventional, but would it be possible to have some kind of filter/eq involved?
I.e., a knob that, at one extreme, gives a more shimmery kind of vibe (Dark Side of the Moon-era Gilmour?) and at the other gives that more "throbby" kind of vibe?

Hi there, sorry for the late reply! Haven't had a lot of time to jump on ILF lately :( Thanks for your input in the vibe, I'll keep it in mind while designing it. Just an update for everyone, production parts are on the way, new sound (much better sounding) sound samples are up on http://www.probespedals.com under the Burly Buzz tab, and you can pre order the Burly Buzz for $150 up until the shipping day after the production parts arrive so get in asap!

Thanks for the input, when the trem does eventually roll around, I've been planning on adding expression pedal control.

Here is a demo video for the Super Looper for those of you who are wondering what it looks like and how it works!

Check it out!
