I think they are comparable with a matamp. I may be wrong. Yeah they are wicked expensive.

would you recommend a mid 70's Bassman135? there is one going for $500US.
Of course! It's a real beast, plenty of low end and volume. And the price is so fair...
You're not a musician, you're a low frequencies generator!

RISE FROM YOUR GRAVEEEEEE!

Hey dudes! I'm smo! I'm kinda new here. I recently bought my friend's old matamp green GT120 head on ebay. it's actually the same amp that was used to take the picture here: http://matamp.com/guitarworld.html
What fuzzes do you like to use with these guys? Since it's the non master volume I'm thinkin it's gonna be a pretty solid pedal monster. My buddy kept it simple and used an old rat. here's a video of him playing it in 09 where he talks about yanni a lot and you can't hear the amp very well but it's ridiculous so i'll share:

The ECT seems the righteous choice to enter the boris zone. There were a couple of you in here that were running matamps, what's workin for ya? My goal is to create a hyper sludge mutant.
Thanks and rock on!

Morax wrote:I agree w/ the above post regarding modern Orange Amps sounding ...well too modern...I have a 75 OR120 & an early 90's reissue OR80 (converted to 120 watts)...best amps i've ever played...period. Modern Orange's are Orange in name only!...for one only the vintage ones are built w/ the Baxandall tone stack...new ones are FMV down the line. not saying the new Orange line sucks...they just sound nothing like the old ones.
+1! This has been my experience. New models versus vintage have drastically different sounds - night and day.
