Sleeping Dogs has a really good game hidden under glitches and control problems.

I just finished a Dark Souls playthrough last night. Playing NG+ at level 82 or something. Hella fun. Way more invasions and I've been wrecking them all hahah

Re: The Video Game thread
I have Dark Souls, really should play it.
Though from the let's plays I've watched mostly boiled down to Dodge->Backstab. Bosses usually ended up as Dodge->Dodge->Dodge->Quick Stab->Getthefuckaway. More like a timing puzzle game than an RPG.
Not trolling or anything, just my naive impression.
Gotta reinstall all my games, not sure what I can be bothered with. Skyrim mods and hanging around in Windhelm, it's really fucking hot here.

Currently playing drunk Tera. Apart from the creepy pedo vibes from the little girl race, the game's fun. More actiony than Guild Wars 2, lots of mobs to gather for AOE wrecking, purty visuals.
Upsides: Combat reminds me of Neverwinter MMO, an underrated game.
Downsides: pedo bait, bikini armor everywhere. I tend to make female characters for some reason, but not if they're crazy ridiculously sexualized. I wonder why.
Also, my friend's played 72 hours of World of Warcraft this week.
72.
Hours.
Played. Not AFK.

that's precisely what makes the souls so good. I'd say they're more like fighting games, with each weapon having its own range, speed, damage, and moveset. compare the combat of skyrim, where you stand next to a grizzly bear clicking your mouse and spamming health potions until one of you goes into a ragdoll physics freakout. After 278 hours of dark souls, skyrim plays like a parody of a video game. I still kinda like it, though.Andrew wrote:I have Dark Souls, really should play it.

Re: The Video Game thread
Dark Souls is so good precisely due to the fact that if you don't dodge, you are absolutely fucked.
Source: Havel the Rock.
Also, I've played 158 hours of Dark Souls and haven't beaten it, probably won't by the time DS2 comes out

Ah, I tend to roleplay in Skyrim, no healing in battle, no fast travel, Master/Legendary difficulty. I pretty much exclusively play stealth, if i'm fighting then i've probably fucked up and will die.leaves turn wrote:

I think that Bethesda designed the game to allow you to immerse yourself in anyway, you don't have to use logs or maps- you can if you want. Yeah, it's not as good as Morrowind but everything changes the older it gets.

I'm having a lot of fun doing some of this stuff in Skyrim. My next playthrough/character I want to be very very stealthy and just see how that works out for me.Andrew wrote:Ah, I tend to roleplay in Skyrim, no healing in battle, no fast travel, Master/Legendary difficulty. The sheer immensity of the number of quests I keep getting can be occasionally overwhelming.

That's exactly how I play the game. Makes it impossible to kill dragons until later in the game though.odontophobia wrote:I'm having a lot of fun doing some of this stuff in Skyrim. I just absolutely love walking up behind a bandit, while invisible and sneaking, and cutting his throat with a knife. Such a satisfying kill animation
