Does the cartridge just have an eeprom on it? Seems like this could open up options for collabs in the future.

For sale today, with two different card options (Reverb + Delay, or Lo-Fi + Pitch).

Cooper's shark tank is still closed, so here's some C/E videos:

I snagged the lofi / pitch version. Apparently it comes with the cards for those 2 effects. He will be offering the other cards for purchase at a later date.

Sounds like a good possibility of this happening according to what he wrote in his blog.

Yeah his cards are from Wuhan China and he said he just has enough for this round. You can buy another card later hopefully.

Most of the Chinese PCB fabs pedal builders use are in that area but they've been getting back to normal lately so production will probably kick up pretty quick. My last round of boards had a pretty typical 5-day production time.

its not the pcb fab, its the assembly. The factory I use shifted to doing medical gear. The specs are kind of specific, so a place like JLC will not do the assmebly due to the size of the pcb being less than the minimum size as well as having non stocked parts in their library.

The cards are not eeprom, but a microcontroller that is emulating the eeprom. It spits out the program code, text files, and tap tempo, preset information.

to DOS - yes this is a super gimmick, rip off of devi ever, I'm the worst and I suck.

Devi was trying to jam simple analog circuits into large cartridges. This is miles beyond that and something I don't think was even close to on her radar when she tried her launch and disappeared with everyone's money. And Electra did that shit when Devi was a baby anyway.

So, you are saying that the creation of this pedal started the corona virus?

(sorry was just watching some "All Gas, No Breaks" you tube videos about conspiracies and I got caught up in the idiocy)

Do you mean these? http://www.rivercityamps.com/electra/modules.php

Just listened to some demos on there and they all sound like shit  (except for the fuzz of course)

Yep, cartridges have gotten smaller and smaller over the years, but I still would love a huge box that used repurposed NES/SNES/Sega cartridges as effects. Maybe a way to mod old consoles to do that, even if only as video fx devices. Not sure but I think I might have seen such a kit somewhere...

More like the Dual FX or Pitch FX cards for the Lexicon PCM-80. If that’s a ripoff, I’m not complaining.

I'm not actually dos (thankfully) but a few points of clarity on what I believe he was getting at.

Guys dos wasn't suggesting that somehow devi invented the idea of cartridges and this is a ripoff of her brilliant original idea. So maybe, no need to defend so hard, eh

He was pointing out how he didn't think that was a good idea at the time (because it wasn't) as a way of suggesting that perhaps he doesn't think this is a great idea either. Which, I'm not a big fan of it either but I'm glad you guys like it. :thumb:

I'm sure you won't abscond with everyone's money Teej :p

Isn't transmitting - as Teej212 said: "program code, text files, and tap tempo, preset information" - via a cartridge obsolete now anyway? Don't apps like the TC Toneprint do the same thing? Granted, you then need to have your phone on you and I have never programmed anything in my life except making my C64 go *boooop* once, ages ago.

i would argue almost every pedal uses obsolete technology.

Of course, that's why we love 'em! I dig this pedal btw, just pondering around the tech (which I know next to nothing about) in general. The tools and methods by which a builder/artist uses to reach their goal is up to them and I do think a cartridge is way cooler than a toneprint.
