Tom Cram has mentioned messing with the Grunge circuit and finding hidden depth. I'd be interested to see a Tom and Peter collaboration here. (The Grunge has common elements to a whole lot of distortion circuits, like the Fabtone, Metalzone, maybe the Death Metal. I'm not surprised that people can keep coming up with cool new variants.)

Why turn all that delicious current into heat with a resistor when you could turn it into eye-melting light? Think about it - if you melt someone's eyes, you're already well on your way to melting their faces.
Photons are so 20th century. If the super efficient LEDs were on the back face by the power input I would be closer to embracing the face meting point of view, but I decided I'd rather be able to see where the knob are set. My studio is in the basement anyway, so a little more heat is fine. That's why I use tube overdrives.

Every time this page gets bumped I keep expecting an HEQ-2 announcement despite what Peter claims.

I'd like to see someone mess with the DOD Corrosion pedal. It's a beast!

I never received a response to my answer, so I'm going to assume that nudes are ok to send. Sending now.

Heard the Corrosion was basically a re-branded Metal X. Does it self-oscillate with everything dimed?

I'm wondering if the DIY brehs can get the HEQ-1 schematic ..

It is supposedly based on the Metal X. Might even be the same board. But it's even more X ... for XTREEEEEEM.
It's actually pretty ridiculous.

I've had it for about five months now, so I'm officially out of my honeymoon period with the HEQ-1, I think. The verdict: still awesome. I love how it fattens up with rolled back guitar volume, but still has an octave-ish burst of harmonics when I dig in with the pick. Really unique.
