I think the funniest part is that the wiggler has a rotating speaker sound but everybody just ignores that

Hahaha even better.

Also, I have watched that wiggler demo and the other ones that guy did more times than is healthy. For like a year or sobi just kept watching them . But I never actually bought any of that stuff  :idk:

Don't want any any more either but the video is a funny kind of nostalgia

I'm not going to watch it again, but is this the one where he maxes a control sending the unit into oscillation, then intones laconically, "for techno uses" or is that another one, like The Worm? or the Tube EQ :idk: :snax:

point is, I watched those enough so that lines just float up every now and then like something from The Big Lebowski.

I spent a while reading the Buffalo FX saga on TGP last night.

I don't know what happened but it seems to have been catastrophic for anyone who was planning to buy one of his pedals.

I've been avoiding that thread - I was on his list earlier this year (pre-covid) and changed my mind about shelling out so much for what is basically an Electric Mistress clone, not because of him, but because, while I like the Electric Mistress, I like a few other flangers more, and I couldn't see paying mojeaux money for something that wasn't some kind of tone grail for me :idk: Hope he's ok - he was in business for a while and afaik hadn't made a rep of shafting customers.... I know that shit happens though, and I've been on the receiving end, so that's not a great feeling either. TGP just seems to bring out the prima donnas on the reg tho doesn't it?

He does appear to have been ticking along nicely, but you never know, I guess.

The dispute with Paypal may have been a sign of the beginning of problems, or it might have been something else entirely. The truth may never come out if he's never seen again.

I know all too well how things can start to slide - I had to stop making guitars because the pressure I put on myself to meet my customer's expectations ended up driving me towards a breakdown, and I'm not sure I've ever been quite the same since.

I had a lovely message from my last customer with a picture of his guitar, he said it was still his favourite. The remarkable thing about that is that a friend of his had to spray the lacquer on it after I boxed it up and shipped the incomplete guitar (plus a number of other items by way of payment for the efforts of the sprayer) to him, around seven years after I started it. I had barely touched it for the last six years of those seven, and had only got as close to finishing it as I managed after quite a lot of anti-depressants.

I could manage an apologetic email now and again, but even now the thought of the whole affair makes me feel pretty anxious.

I have no idea if this is what happened with Buffalo FX, but I can quite easily imagine how it's possible for what seems to be a happy ship sinking very quickly on what appears from a distance to be a calm sea.

I'm sorry to hear you went through that - hope you're in a better place now (it certainly sounds like you're having fun with music and fx and your daughter).
Knowing more about why things are happening can help, but for some people its never enough - or it's like blood in the water. Just hope it all works out all around. I personally am less likely to consider going for something custom these days, but I never lose sight of my own responsibility for my choices, of the risks that always exist, and of the things I have....

Sorry for kumbaya  But really, what good does turning plowshares into swords do anybody? :idk:

i'm not confused about the impulse nor the reality, i'm questioning the strategic value.
