Like with beards. Or being clean-shaven.
Or with fuzzed out guitars. Or with clean guitars.
Or like when people put delay on everything. Or people put reverb on everything.
Or when people paint only in black and white. Or when people use too many bright colors.

Everything has been done before. Nothing's cool. Everything changes. Everything's cool.
It's all about where you're at. Time marches on. "Now" is always time for something cool
that will soon be overused, then a cliché, and then passé, and then it goes nearly extinct
before being revitalized and reintroduced and all the sudden it seems cool again. And then not.

"Tasteless hacks" are always attracted to cool things or techniques used by talented, smart people.
Ubiquity might guarantee that something's exposed to tasteless hacks, but hacks have a
way of worming their way into everything. Entropy means that everything gets run into the ground.

Love what you love. I love fuzz. And delay. And glitch. But... you know, not all the time or in
all situations.

And on that note.... wham, bam, thank you, NAMM.

Is it possible to still love new delay pedals even if you hate Praise & Worship (tasteless hacks running U2 licks/techniques) into the ground?

I would say yes. It isn't the pedal that sucks, it's the tasteless hacks who suck.

Shimmer and glitch aren't inherently interesting in themselves. They are only as interesting
as the situations in which they're used.

This isn't your daddy's cop movie about the "Fuzz".

Shimmer is perpetually stoned, floating in an amorphous cloud of pot smoke while
Glitch is a meth-head who can't finish a single sentence outside of five minutes.

That movie will be green-lit in a minute.

That demo proved exactly why modular scares me. When the maker/buillder gets the "wtf is going on" feeling.

 I had a whole Doepfer modular system for years and sold it because it was just too scary. Now I just stick to my Pocket Piano and a bunch of Casios like a dork.

Yeah, it's pretty intimidating but i've been considering it since picking up a Sub 37 and Mother 32.... but only if i get one of these so i can also use all of them with guitar too in this way:
