I liked most of it, only thing I didn't really like was the Laguna Side Story & Dreams and that whole giant weird futuristic city thing... rest was cool though.

It has my favorite music (overall) from the series. I have so much nostalgia for that game...so good.
I remember not having a memory card and not being able to figure out how to exit the school (which was the most massive "level" I'd seen in a game up to that point), and when I finally did SUDDENLY IFRIT WRECKS ME JESUS CHRIST. It was so different from anything I'd played. It's my favorite PSX game still.
Also, me and a couple friends went through Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter tonight. SHIT ROCKS. If you need a good co-op game then I highly recommend it. The game looks amazing in motion and has some gorgeous backgrounds.

FF8 is my 2nd favorite Final Fantasy game (closely edging out FF7), after FF Tactics. Definitely a top 5 RPG for me.
I could do without the Laguna side story too.

Go to your room!

I will not have bad words spoken of VII and putting IX & X above it... That's just wrong.
And on another note... I started playing VI and wasn't that keen... does it get better further in? And i've never tried tactics so I have no comment on it coming before VII & VIII... but it better be good.

Finished Red Dead Redemption...great game. It does follow the sorta rockstar sandbox standard, but it's got horses and six shooters
A lot to do (perhaps too much), the sidequests and activities stayed fun and never became tedious (hell I think I spent a day or two just playng poker).
Great storyline, the ending was perfect considering the character.
Crackdown 2: [rant]They took crackdown 1, kept the level design/assets but gutted a lot of the stuff that made the city feel alive. 10 years of chaos are supposed to have passed, but it makes for a bland environment. Many of the memorable levels from the first game are empty shells which are barely used/serve as background scenery.
They also gutted most of the character motivation and tactical aspects of the game.
In the first you could target the gun runner general to weaken the enemy weapons, the vehicle pool general to prevet vehicle ambushes, the drug lord to weaken enemy health...kinda like a gta'd megaman.
All of that is gone...replaced by a simple 3 step process you repeat about 10 times (1: activate 3 or 4 LIGHTLY guarded "beacons" 2: Defend a bomb from waves of enemy attacks until it detonates 3: Take over enemy stronghold), then the game just ends.
I think they were hoping for a sequel, but they basically killed the series with this one. Sad, as the first was VERY enjoyable, probably one of my more favorite 360 games. [/endrant]
Starting Fallout: New Vegas...I made a cute redhead who swipes everything that isn't bolted down

I don't have a favorite.
But mario games are always pretty good, so are zelda games. Metal Gear Solid is also a good series, as well as Suikoden and some Final Fantasy games (6,7,12, tactics). I'm also a die hard Mega Man fan.
Hard to pick just one really.

Anyone else irrationally excited for the new Deus Ex?
They better not screw up. 2 of my favourite pc games ever.

Anyone play the new donkey kong? Looks awesome.
I hope the soundtrack is as good as the SNES ones.
$50 is a bit steep for a retro-with-modern-graphics sidescrolling platformer, but a rental for sure.

^ This +1000
Although, my only experience with Deus Ex is the one for the Xbox from about 5 years ago.
Alot of people said that one sucked, but I really loved it

That was part 2. Most of the original fanboys were disappointed but I played 2 first as well and I must say it lives up to 1. Don't see what all the fighting was about.
Anyway I'm wondering what Eidos Montreal will make of it. It looks more action oriented but I want it to keep some of its roots.
