Well let's just say I have been working on those off and on for the last 3 years, BUT am hoping to finish them up over the winter.
I have no idea if I'll make ukes a regular item or just an occassional indulgence but I suppose we'll see how they turn out and how they're received!

That reminds me, for any that don't watch ye olde Nelson Instruments facebook here is one of the new basses. This one is being rushed through for the Pomplamoose tour in a couple weeks. I'm just waiting for the pickguard to come back from being anodized so I can finish it up and get it out the door.
Let me tell ya, this bass is mucho fun to play. She chose flat wound strings and I think they will really add to the thumpy goodness!

Yeah, TGP is weird. Do some relicing on those puppies and they'll go ape-shit. Please don't do that. I know you won't, and I do like artificial ageing on guitars, but they look perfect as they are. The funny thing is, that shape isn't exactly new. It's an old design and has been adopted and tweaked by other manufacturers as well, so you'd think they'd express some form of interest, right? I know a few builders don't get the recognition over there that they deserve. It's usually just a small handful of the same people praising their favourite guitar company and that's it. I ignorantly used to think TGP was full of people who all knew what was what and had somehow tried everything, from rare 50's Japanese electrics to $8000 custom guitars from a guy who only builds eight a year. But I realised that it was the same people saying the same things in different threads. I thought it was multiple people, but I began to recognize and pay attention to usernames (I think it's because they have no avatars over there, unless you pay for it, and I have always recognized particular people by their avatars) and I started to see what was going on. After that point on, I would always assume that because there were ten highly-positive or highly-negative comments on one particular piece of gear, it would actually only be two people. They're tricksters, I tells ya!

Ha! I never paid attention to that but it might make sense.
Yeah they are a head scratcher over there for sure.
That's the funny thing, had suhr, tyler, etc etc etc made this exact guitar the membership would be singing the praises...but alas it is not to be!

Well I just made one of my very infrequent forays over to TGP to try to drum up some interest. There's also a post there in the Small Builders section from the fellow who won the silent auction on the 12 to 6 conversion, he seems a little misinformed about the guitar in a couple of topics but I've tried to straighten him out.
And HOLY SHIT does my guitar look great! I'm stoked for it.
