This is fucked up. Can't it just work like it's supposed to?

EDIT: Tried some more stuff, still not working properly. This is weird. I guess this is what I get when I finally allow some modulation on my board. Should've just gotten another delay or fuzz instead. I mean, this thing sounds good, but if I can't have it bypassed on my board without loads of noise for whatever reason, I'd rather get something else. No hate on Infanem, I just don't want this thing deciding the order of stuff on teh board.
can you take out the other pedals 1 by 1 and see if its one of those reacting with it?

Will do. Tried it in a lot of different positions. After the echorec, where I want it to be, is the worst, but it behaves weirdly elsewhere. I get overdrive when it's off etc. Weirdly, it seems to act this way by itself as well, without any other pedlols. I hope it's not fucked, I just got it, and it has been sitting still on my board all the time. When it's on it functions properly though, but I can't play with phaser on all the time.

This is now the twilight zone. By itself, with just guitar -> Faye Sing -> amp, there is now no sound whatsoever when it's off, normal phasing when it's on. Just really quiet static when off. On the board, along with the other pedals, the problem is the same as described above. Wtf.

if its acting weird all by itself with a decent brand of power supply then that sounds like a fault with the switch on the pedal.
it should be working fine, just like your other pedals
if you unplug the power does the signal pass through?

either way its not working properly and i'm sure ken will sort it out for you

No, there was no signal when I unplugged it by itself. But there was when I did it when it was on the board with the other pedals. :idk:

Yeah, that's what I landed on as well. Something is definately fucked inside it.

^ Bummer. Nothing worse than getting a new pedal, digging the sounds, then having it crap out on you. Bad luck has bitchslapped this thread with a vengeance. Fingers crossed you get it sorted.

Yeah, what's all of that, no Faye Sing for uni yet and now Eivind's Faye Sing craps out on him, major bummers, good luck wishes to both of you! :)* :)* :)*

Thanks dudes. My frustration has cooled down, now I'm just waiting for Infanem (Ken?) to reply so that I can spend money shipping it to him to get it fixed. It's obviously broken. Weird though, as it was working at first, and I haven't even moved it.

This thread is cursed. We will all taste the vengeance of the ghost of phasers past.

The old Faye Sing gave people a lot of problems as well, myself included. Both power and switch issues seemed to be the most common.

Hah, I feel like such an electronics expert now (not really)! Ken got back to me, and echoed the faulty switch sentiment (which according to him would be a first for this). Just to be sure though, he wanted me to press the switch a few dozen times because of science. So, I got down and pushed the hell out of the motherfucker, on and off, on and off. Like 50-100 times. And suddenly it worked perfectly! :!!!:

If anyone else got a problem with their Faye Sing, just ship it to me, and I'll fix it for ya. Nothing beats the "I have no idea what I'm doing"-method.

I have problems of the strange as well with my 2nd voice. For some reason, sometimes it will only work with a pedal after word being engaged. Went on tour and didn't do it once. Got back from tour and it was happening again. Sometimes it happens at the practice space, sometimes it doesn't. Sent it to Ken and it worked 100% for him. Got it back and the issue continued. Must be science.

Anyway, this phaser is miles ahead of others and makes me consider modulation. Especially with the knobs for sweeps and fixed phasing. Fuzz after phaser is so gravy.

It is really cool, and you should consider it! Greatest modulation I've ever had, with loads of different options and awesome sounds.

That being said, you are all allowed to PM me if you're interested in it. See, thing is, after the honeymoon phase (hehehehehehehe) I'm starting to remember why I generally dislike modulation. I will spend more time with it and get more awesome sounds, but I don't really see it living long on my board. It's the kinda thing I will use for a song or two, not all the time like my other peds. And I can't really afford luxury right now.

Finally my Faye Sing B 2CV is working, cowabunga dudes, this thing sounds fantastic.
At first I thought setting the lower band counter clock wise would make the phase go deeper but you have to turn it up for that, if you do, boy oh boy.
I'm a complete phaser nut but my brain can't believe what my ears are hearing with the Faye Sing B, it's absolutely incredible,
vibrato, pitch wobble, deep phasing, lush shallow phasing, it's all in there.
I haven't heard a phaser doing everything this good and sounding as great as this before and I tried lots.
Unbelievably good.
