it's setting in i don't have the time, energy, focus, etc etc to be in a "band," per se, so i am going back to looping and writing on my own and jamming in my living room with a bass/synth player. to get this thing moving along, i've placed a sizeable order from an online retailer.
for the home studio:
tascam dp-008ex 8-track recorder
2x shure sm-57 mics+ desktop stands & mic hosa cables
dbx 266xs dual compressor
behringer mic2200 mic preamp
shure srh840 headphones
for playing:
electro-harmonix 22500 dual looper
earthquaker disaster transport sr
eyeballing a boss rv-3 or rv-5... if anyone has one and wants to straight up trade for a dba mico dream, lemme know.
i've also got a mia jazzmaster coming that i intend to flip immediately to fund a film camera i've been drooling over.
christmas comes early.

I don't know that I'd consider an RV-5 over an RV-3. Always reading lots of complaints that the RV-5 has some sort of digital/metallic thing going on. Plus. Post-rock in a box really does it for me. Would rock a Blackout Cadavernous Reverb if I had to pick just one verb but I did love my RV-3.

the delay settings on the RV-3 are a thing of beauty and a joy forever.

RV3 is stellar. The reverb is short and a bit clangy, but it goes 100% wet and does great auto-volume swells and the delay can have a 2 second glitched loop. These are bonus features that seem to be byproducts of the design or limitations of the technology at the time.

i've never had an rv-3 before, but the delay/reverb setting is what sells me on it. i have had two rv-5 pedals before and i really liked them, they have a great plate and spring setting on short decay. i've also had the cadavernous reverb (blue one, not black/pink) and it was beautiful sounding, easily one of the best sounding pedals i've ever had. it won't fit on the board where i want it, though -- i also didn't like how the swell switch wasn't soft though they may have fixed that in the black/pink 3rd gen version.

I only ever had the first version but I loved it. Soft switch for swell would’ve definitely been killer.

i love using the max delay setting on the RV-3 for a loop...it's just long enough for the No Pussyfooting/Discreet Music thing.

Arc Flash in wooooo!
I had one of these years ago and foolishly sold it. Don't think I'll be making that mistake again.

Mercury 7 is out for Delivery and Rene V2 is en route. I'm planning to use the Mercury 7 with my DX11 during my new live band's first show next Fri, I've heard great things about that pairing. Stoked to try it out with guitar and all that jazz too.

Merc7 was made for synths in general. Best synth verb.

The Mercury 7 is amazing on synth. I've had mine paired with both my DX7 and Sub 37 and love both pairings. It'll go great with the DX11 as well.
I just picked up a Black Finger compressor, SM57, and Unidyne III. Also, have a Roland SE-02 on the way

Y'all were very right, the Merc 7 is AMAZING. Gonna give it a run with my modular and/or OP-1 tonight hopefully.
Also Rene V2 is OUT FOR DELIVERY!!! No disrespect to hologram electronics, but this baby is my real dream sequencer. I should have plenty of time to get acquainted with it before my modular set on Friday
