That is sweet. If there are only like two interesting strat-style guitars, this is one.

I've always wondered if those feel weird...
Never tried a coated string, but flats feel kinda grabby for a while.

They don't really feel different.. maybe a little... but not much- especially not at my skill level
They're 11-50, and I think I like them the most. I've used the black beauties (non-neon), the red devils, neon green ones and now the neon pink ones... They all feel pretty much the same, except the black beauties are a little "softer" maybe... I haven't played a "normal" string in ages... but those neons are not that expensive, you should try them!

Kinda want to now

They'll piss my friend off, so they're probably worth it. Actually that's a definite purchase now.

Revamped the 'lectronics tonight -- put
a contact mictwo contact mics on the underside of the trem plate and pickguard; they and the pickup are either on or off now. So really there are three contact mics. I wish they were a little louder.
Also put the springs back in because I found out that the oversized arm I ordered and couldn't use on the other guitar fits this one, yaaaay. Embarrassingly, this guitar stays almost perfectly in tune after abusing the vibrato...I love the SGV but it's a pain in the ass to configure to the point where it isn't fucked after some gazin'.
Liquid flux is the shit. Dip a wire in it before soldering and it's tinned the instant the iron touches it. It leaves marks on aluminum surfaces though...

Main guitar: 2010 ibanez RGA220z. The paint job on this actually sparkles in person, hard to capture with a crappy iphone pic. I'm not a shredder or anything but this has an insanely nice neck and it stays in tune for weeks at a time.
No.2: 1980-something Peavey Patriot. Only recently acquired. I'm gonna swap out the tuners and put a mounting ring on the 'bucker. Has a huge, nearly empty control cavity too so would love to chuck some sort of onboard effect in there.

Thanks haha. I would love a Rickenbacker or an offset like a Jag/Jazz but I just can't jive with the necks, so until I can afford a custom the RG will do just fine, prestiges are top notch guitars they just don't seem to like marketing them outside the metal community for the most part.
