Holy shit the Alexander pedals are INSANE! Some of the best sounding reverbs and delays I've ever heard. They sit so well in the mix and just fill out the space perfectly. The Glacial Zenith is EXACTLY what I was shooting for, super versatile low gain drive!

Snagged one of the MF Boosts from Alto for $45 shipped with the current Reverb sale, now I gotta get an expression pedal for it.

being too cheap to buy a proper expression pedal, i bought an old Schaller volume pedal for like $40US. it works fine, as you can hear on one of my loops:

the expression pedal is controlling the Randy's Revenge ring modulator, which is the sound that bends up and down a couple of octaves.

Phase 90 is sick, there's a cool mid cut mod that's fairly well documented I suggest. It goes on a toggle so depending on gain in your signal chain you can engage the mod and it keeps the phase 90 from clipping everything..

DD-3 is always tits.

you gotta tell me how it compares to a whammy once it arrives. I hella wanna swap my whammy for one since that thing is beat to hell.

I'm also interested. My whammy is fine but it's just so damn big.

Also just jammed the Apocalypse for the first time and it's raaaad (and loud  ).

Honestly the Biyang (Akai) PH-8 has a lot more sounds than a stock Phase 90 or 100, and they're about $55.

FYI - the Ricochet's hardware and DSP are identical to the Whammy V. It even has the choice between classic and chords mode. So it'll sound the same. The only thing that really matters is the tradeoff between size and features.

Will do, though I'm only familiar with the Whammy algorithms on various Digitech multis and the fourth version of the actual pedal.

A coworker who is in a local indy band and has similar textural tastes spoke highly of the Ricochet, so my expectations are high. Also, expression pedals are nifty, but I prefer tapping or automation rather than rocking treadles. The T-arm mode of the Boss PS-5 was once my go to whammy/vibrato option.

Interesting stuff. If it sounds the same as the V I might go for it... It's not as if I use the treadle for anything other than going from fully one position to fully another. And a switch does that just as well.

I was considering a used IV for price reasons but the fact that the ricochet is so affordable makes me considering it and for the same reasons you are.
