Are the remaining units going on sale, he asked?

Well if it runs .. The power supply is probably overheating and will be pissed. That being said, most power supplies are capable of more than they say.
thanks :thumb:
The only pedals I've played with that didn't function 100% properly when run on lower spec'd power were Neunaber. Everything else I've done with with, either on accident or on purpose, has been fine though it was always a short-term deal. The real concern is the power supply being overworked, but if it's not heating up and shutting off you're probably in the clear.

in my experience, the listed current draw for most devices is way over the actual current draw

A pal needed to borrow a mixer for a gig, and in exchange, passed on this shiny, beautiful drum synth as a short-term lender:

I'm not a drum person. After going through all the pots in the cupboard, what else should I attach this to?

Any experts here on these things? The manual is in Japanese. Beside the output jack, there's a 1/8th" jack labelled EXT. TRIG. — is that basically an input for non-percussive things?

ya external trigger is for triggering externally. either via audio, cv/gate potentially, electronic drum pads, etc etc.

u may be able to plug a cable in and tap on the plug on the other end to test depending on where the trig threshold is set.
is there like a level/threshold pot or something for the ext. trig?

I want an Analogman sunlion .. but I'm not paying 450+ clams. I mean his shit is dope, but just a fuzz face with a bias knob into a 3 cap toggle rangemaster.. That's basically what the Gagan Skyripper is.. plus a buffer and bananas mode and starve etc ..

Anyone ever play or own a Sunlion?

Not sure which thread this goes in, but here is the mini setup I put together for my friend who is traveling overseas.

Critter & Guitari Pocket Piano into five pedals: Hotone Trem, two Ekos (1 second delays, one is set short/one long) and two Wally loopers for sampling and resampling. The Wallys are cool, you can change the pitch of your loop (it has to be returned back to original speed to add overdubs though). Using an optional Y power attachment, you can add a Mooer Audiofile (headphone amp and 'master volume') for silent practice, or for jams/performance you can use the master volume as way to get some additional loudness if you're sitting far away from your amp. But the Mooer doesn't fit on the board.

Image

Space is tight!!! In order to allow clearance for cables to plug into the pedals, I have the equipment sitting on the shallow (lid) side, instead of the bottom of the case. It only matters if you want to keep everything located inside the case when playing. It barely fits! In order to have room to store stuff underneath and still clear the lid above, the pedal "board" is 1/8th inch black acrylic (break-resistant lucite I think?) A 1/4" piece of wood was too thick, the lid was putting pressure on the pedals. Getting everything to fit required some experimentation.

The case is a $15 cheapie from Harbor Freight, I bought it to carry my Roland 404 looper but it's just a hair too small (I made a mistake) so it was sitting around unused and available. I don't think it's too sturdy but it should prevent accidents and dings. Since I already had the case, I was motivated to make everything fit.

Folding it up/opening it up. The daisy chain can stay attached except for on the last Wally looper (it doesn't clear the lid).

Image

Shows the storage underneath, if you lift the Pocket Piano and pedal board up. The Mooer Audiofile only fits by laying on it's side. There's also enough room for a 1Spot, a couple short cables, reverse polarity daisy chain attachment for the Pocket Piano etc.

I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out! If he doesn't want to have it so orderly (all the pedals on a board, etc) he can just carry everything loose, too. Total weight is about 6 pounds, actually kind of heavy...

I built the Analogman sunface and then a rangemaster with the negative ground mod (still using a PNP) and an input cap toggle Beano style.. still auditioning transistors in the rangemaster.. but it's just about ready to box together.. I will have a Sunlion sort of ;)

Yeah it's pretty amazing so far. It's a similar base as Joe Gagans Skyripper which I also love. I know people lose their minds over the OC44 transistors in Rangemaster.. but all the stuff I've tried so far sounds great.. and that's fixed bias. I do love Analogman builds though.

I breadboarded a few rangemasters years ago with random Si transistors and they still sounded good. :idk: maybe I just don't have magic tone ears. I've never tried a "seriously good" variant I guess.

I've only ever built one other rangemaster and I just used an AC176 because it's all I had (NPN variety) but the germanium PNP versions sound really good. I have tried MP42, MP16, AC125, AC128, and a few others.. I think it's just such a simple design that they all sound pretty good.

I think the "Seriously good" idea is pretty subjective on a rangemaster. It's literally 3 resistors and a couple caps with one pot and a transistor..

Maybe I'll breadboard the "Oh my Darlington" Steve at small bear designed .. I have some low gains for the Darlington configuration. That could be pretty good.
