I do enjoy some Bad Plus, but imo that needs increased detonation of source material.

I've heard that Stevie Wonder set before. Outstanding stuff.

I got you covered on the Philly jazz front though:

^Sounds great! I hadn't heard any of her recorded stuff. Only live clips on YouTube. And always a fan of Chad Taylor's drumming. :!!!:

Hopefully this'll brighten up everybody's day/week/month/year:

Pre-XMAS bump fo' jazzheads! :!!!:

Property Manager came over to fix leaky faucet while I was listening to this and was like "WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO?!?!?":

Awww--this is all solid gold straight back through the inimitable Arthur! :joy: idk why, I still run into people who get freaked by anything off the center line, Sam, ED, Ornette, late Trane, let alone anyone further out from the blast point; I think actually the further we sail from that first explosion in the 6Ts, the more extreme the effect on the average nonjazz/avant/noise listener....

Anyway, let's lean into some of that jawn  :joy:

Black Unity Trio--Al Fatiha

Really liking that Jamie Breezy Branch, so there's some more cello up in there for ya.

(although I admit that I am too out da loop to know what a "jazz electrician" is as referenced in her wiki) :idk:  :snax:

also: "Pigeon Shit Colored Vinyl LP" :!!!:

Wadud's probably my favorite jazz cellist. Although, this guy and Tom Cora likely come in a close tie for second:

Haha--for a second there I thought you were third streaming me. Don't be third streaming me.

Actually, dude is a perfectly kickass cellist--his tone is meaty, which is frequently not so much in other jazz 'llists. I like the buzzy prepared-harpsichord tanbura-lite drone edge on the 'chordist's notes at the start of this one:

Baroque Jazz Trio--Winter

Also, utube autoplay algobot laid this on me:

Well, they are kinda fusion-y in a way, but, yeah, all the BJT cuts are killer.
