is that caulk in the joints there?
I've been planning a cab
and was gonna do that
but don't see it on other cabs
obviously eliminates any vibration issue ever
talk about glue too
and dovetails
if you have a jig show it to me
if you cut them by hand
show me your freakin sweet saw there manhands
my buddys got this $700 jig
it does these sweet blind dovetails
does all different ones depending on router bit and spacing
I'm sure you guys ave seen those things

Yes it is and yes it does.
I do fingerjoints I have a jig it's a makita. I also use a festtool one that's probably the same since it was 700 bucks as well.

and thats why i couldn't find
a makita dovetail jig
whoa wait you have a $700 festool jigsaw?
how much better can it be?
honestly one of my least favorite tools
but that festool must be nice
i eliminated 90% of jigsaw and sawzall work
the day i got a fein multimaster

It's one of those things if you got to use it and see how it handles and how easy it is to change for different applications.... you wouldn't even ask. and I was mistaken I was thinking of my tracksaw that was 700. the jig was 300
yea all festools are nice, they are german design and manufactored.

im a frame/finish carpenter
that stuff aint designed for my abuse
or the bed of my truck
if i had the ducks to set up my shop all festool though
but it would mean having two of everything
cause a $1400 miter saw in the rain is just sad
and I'm usually in that spot twice a month
i may get that makita tracksaw next year
one of those would make my life a lot easier
do you use the tracksaw to cut the cab panels?
is it good enough for that or tablesaw?

It's on par if not better than most table saws. I find I get a more even and straighter cut with the track saw.
and it's a throw up some days I use the table saw sometimes I use the track saw. it's all in what is in use at the moment. Sometimes the tracksaw isn't about.

Good stuff in this here thread.
I had it in my craw that I was going to make a 2x15/2x12 guitar cab. But I asked around and more knowledgeable folks than myself said that there might be weird phasing issues with different sized speakers in the same enclosure. Which, kinda made sense to me—the 15s are going to make different sized waves than the 12s, and at certain points they're going to be fighting/canceling each other.
But then I see stuff like Omega Enclosures' 3x12/1x15 cab (or 5x12/1x15) and I think to myself that maybe those issues are nominal and won't really matter much, big picture. Thoughts?

Unless your a bass player on TalkBass you won't notice any issues......

I use a 2x12 + 1x15 Randall Cab and theres absolutely no cancellation or phase issues.

The idea that it'd upset TalkBassers is actually more appealing. I just wanted to make sure that it didn't sound bad first.
