Nice textures! I like how the flag bleeds pixels over the roof.
Is your "visual album" a series of discrete things linked thematically?
Like a spectrum of little individual, unrelated smaller pieces? Or like
one large piece with smaller segments demarcated within it?
I've definitely thought about making a "visual album". Somehow that's taken
a lot more time than I thought it would. Just to make a few bits. So...
it currently isn't enough to constitute an "album". More like a "visual EP".

The music is actually by KOYL, I did the visual.

glad you dig it! I'd say it's more of a large piece with smaller segments within it. for this one, I'm only going to use 1 source and try my best to get as much as I can out of it. the sound is done and there's definitely an easily noticeable theme going on throughout, going to try and relate that in the visuals. should be easy with a single source tho. my original idea was to make a bunch of loops then make visuals for each one; more on the 'visual ep' side of things I guess

never thought about it like that.

Hmm. Sounds like a cool project. So do you always work from sound to visuals? Or does it depend on the project?
A bunch of loops with visual interpretations/counterpoints sounds interesting.

Thanks. I really like how the No Memory came out on the recording.

Sounds great! Really tight duo you've got there.
So was that fallen disco ball shot on film? Or a filter added in post to approximate film?
The only quibble I have is that I'd love to have seen some of that film projected onto
you two as you're playing in the warehouse space. Especially during the droned-out
interlude. But... I'm a visual maximalist, so take that with a grain of whatever you'd like.
Salt?
Outside minor quibbles, that was awesome, top to bottom and front to back!

No special effects were added to this. The Super 8 is something they incorporate in all of their videos. They prefer to use it for B reel, but that isn't a bad idea. That would've been cool. I did think about it, but don't feel like telling a production company what to do...especially if it's a mutually beneficial thing that cost me nothing and cost them something.
If you're referring to the scattered mirror shots, those were actual mirrors that were on the ceiling in this weird place that they just utilized. They did shoot a video in all Super 8 for Tim Barry of Avail fame.

I thought those clips looked like film. But... I don't know the state of the art when it comes to "film-like" replication of scratches
and hairs and abrasions to the emulsion. I still really love the feel and look of film. And of course the absolute best is to view
projected film. I still think there is something different about shining light through a thin layer of emulsion that has reacted
chemically to light to create the image that is then being projected. But... that's just me.
The disco ball on the floor that I was talking about was at 3:30 in the video. Right before the mirrors on the ceiling you were
talking about. Weird place. Perfect set for what you guys did with it.
A mutually beneficial thing that cost you nothing sounds like a great deal. And it turned out really well!

I'm curious if that was the first time you guys saw the place, when you're going in, or if you were just acting?

Haha, that day was the first day we saw the place, but we indeed were acting. I'm walking so unnaturally it's funny.
