working on new ambient/drone/experimental album. it's around 50 minutes long. some "songs" and parts are not far from being finished (like 75% and up, like the two below), others are recorded but need to be worked on/rerecorded.

http://nearworlds.org/private/cloudscap ... ediary.mp3
guitar + pedals + op-1 + bow + ableton live

http://nearworlds.org/private/cloudscap ... thuban.mp3
guitar + loops + tremolos + distortion + op-1 + mbira + contact mics + room mics + trash & drumsticks + scissors + ebow + function generator + ableton live

Song I've spent the last couple of days recording, this is the sort of thing I want to get a band together to play. I had a great time tracking bass and guitars, but I hate recording vocals because I can't sing, programming drums sucks because I have no way to record drums well and can barely play AND it comes out sounding like shitty programmed drums, and mixing is boring as hell. I quite like the song except for the singing but daaaamn I'm sick of listening to it after spending ages mixing the thing. Recording is way more fun when all I have to do is turn up and do my parts.

The 2 chord jam that makes up most of the song was SO FUN.

Howdy folks, this is The Hanged Man & The Groovy Gloom, the main focus of my little offerings. Kinda jazzy, dark, pretty, hefty music. It's a rehearsal tape off the opening track off the record we're putting out in a couple weeks (free, of course). It does get heavy.

If you reckon it's something you might be interested in, our Facebook page (which displays the full unwiedly extent of our moniker) is http://www.facebook.com/thehangedmanandthegroovygloom. Come along and click 'Like', if indeed you do.

And if you do, here's another of the rehearsal tapes.

Hope y'dig.

We have free songs available at our website and bandcamp, also.

This is one of the finest things I've heard on SoundCloud, ever.

I'm quite into this EP. Not my usual kind of thing, but kinda reminds me of early Dead Can Dance mixed with something Danzigesque.

Brought to you in 8mm hipster vision. Enjoy.

I am very into this. Man, I've seen your bassist onstage with everyone from Dälek to my good buddy in Idle Generator. How does he find the time? Sounds great though, really nice stuff.
