It's pretty much as it sounds, from what I can gather. Black metal dudes playing medieval-themed folk melodies with ambient samples and synths.
I found a pretty extensive resource on Youtube earlier today, though I have no point of reference for this sort of stuff, so I don't know if it's the good stuff. I'm enjoying it anyway. I needed some non-distracting music to listen to at work whilst I meddle with enormous spreadsheets, so it couldn't have any riffs or righteous drum fills, little-to-no vocals, nothing poppy, catchy or rocking. I just needed sounds to drown out my boss punching the living daylights out of his keyboard. DS has been the perfect soundtrack today.
