Kevin does a thicker neck that is supposedly closer to a fender. 'Tis what mine will have.

Yeah I have mixed feelings about the ultra thin necks. On one hand, I totally get the logic behind the neck dive. On the other hand, I REALLY rest my hand on the neck and if it's too thin I have a feeling my fingers would wrap too far around to the fretboard haha

IF I WAS EVER TO GET ONE EVER (PROBABLY NEVER) I'D HAVE THE THICKER NECK

So you waited for the anodized fretboard after all or was it something else you changed last minute??

Not mine.

Don't even know if it is or isn't getting ano'd anymore, lol. Its been a while and i'm happy either way.

Sucks right? It's been a long 5-6 months.

I wonder how many they work on in a year. But the real question is, what the fuck are all these people that buy them?

Sucks indeed! I was also wondering how many they make yearly cuz it seems like they post one or two completed projects every week via FB. Dudes def stay busy!

On a positive note, Kevin mentioned my body and neck are already machined so that should cut some time off the wait, maybe. Sure hope I don't have any holdup with the anodizing like you experienced Andrew. My entire guitar is pretty much anodized so that could be problematic......

Fingers crossed.

Ahhh, I had a pocket bass for a couple of years, still kinda miss it.

I put in my bass project order (EGC neck/hardware for old Danelectro longhorn bass body) in June of last year. Last update, it's still 'in progress' but will probably still be a while. I've seen guys bitch about waiting 2-3 times as long for custom projects, but even then it should end up being worth the wait. Or I'll have convinced myself that it was worth the wait. Either way works.

thanks man, I wasn't sure if those prices were for crazy custom guitars also

an egc longhorn would be sweet!

whenever I end up having that much cash lying I think I'm gonna go for the EB-1 style body, just imagine that in black with an aluminum neck ohhhhhhhhhhhh man

I think it depends on how complicated the custom order is. In this case, I sent Mr. Burkett the body to have EGC neck, pickups, etc. put in (no special requests in terms of wiring/setup) and it ended up being cheaper than a regular all-aluminum model by a few hundred bucks. But the trade-off is, it'll take a couple of years to complete since he's plugging away at it a little bit at a time between other orders.
The opposite end of the 'custom' spectrum would be the dude from Cheap Trick's 12-string bass monstrosity http://www.electricalguitarcompany.com/ ... be07af.htm where the price tag is predictably huge...
