So many Links.

We could fit all of the Zelda games and a back and forth on your mothers back 9 with all these links.

I'm more :whateva: that he could have done a search.

I'm loathed to come off in defense of the guy because he does seem like a douche; but I think you guys may have taken him a little too seriously on the "Screw You Chunk Systems". Sure other TB dumbasses that can't think critically are going to see it as "Chunk Systems makes shit", but they are missing the point of effects,...which is be yourself and trust your ears.

Those of us who realize that Chunk Systems does in fact NOT make shit (not that I've had any esperience cause I've never put one to work,...would've loved to try the Squeezer at some point in time but it is cost prohibitive to me), know better and I think sells the majority of TBFXers a little short on their own critical thinking skills. TBO is entitled to his opinion and I love him to death but he seems to be coming off as unnecessarily and overly defensive. If people start sipping on the same hateraid as this guy (may be happening but I haven't seen it nor do I care what other people think really),...I'd say you are within your rights,....but I don't really see this guy starting a CS Hate bandwagon. CS's reputation far precedes this noobs opinions.

EDIT: Rereading it,...I can see where why you all got a little defensive,...IDK,....I just didn't catch that vibe off the OP at all and while I agree with Jared's opinion in general,....I just don't see cause for sensitivity on this one.

Note Previously Used Gear. A little uncalled for and perhaps a little headhunting IMO. Fuck that guy,....now I'm pissed that I participated in his thread (not joking or being satirical here). :picard:

Does it make me a dick to say I kind of agree with him? :idk:

The 00Funk I owned was a piece of shit as well. It sounded ok when you could dial the motherfucker in (if you could), but it is probably the shittiest pedal I've ever owned. At the price that they cost new, you'd expect higher quality. So I can see why he's a little annoyed with Chunk Systems. I mean everyone is entitled to their opinion right? Some people think Boss, EHX and other pedals are shit, but we don't call them out on it. What's the difference?

i dunno. i actually agree with him about the Chunk stuff i've used, didn't do it for me, but there's like 3 or 4 builders out there i hate, and like SmallishEqForHorses said, unless they were making shitty designed or unreliable quality stuff i wouldn't trash them in public. Chunk's never made sounds i liked, but they're really well put together.

tl;dr - fuck EHX.

He's already made a habit of saying things suck and then backing off. Plus, he keeps on making threads for things that are searchable. That gated fuzz list was maybe the 5th or 6th thread he's started over the last few weeks like that.

Also, he thinks just because his Bongo has an 18v preamp that's it's the hottest signal ever.

Entitled to his opinion for sure,....but with such an abrasive choice of words towards a popular company; maybe not so much.

I think the difference between you and Nakuri is that CS has a reputation that precedes and the majority of TBers know this and you aren't starting threads that begin with slagging a company, and as far as I know you don't have "Pieces of **** (aka Chunk System Pedals)" in the Previously Used Gear section of your TB user profile. He just comes off as having an unwarranted ax to grind. The more diplomatic way would have been like so.
Looking for a gated fuzz pedal.

I tried a Brown Dog, and [DEL]just as it's name implies, it's crap. Screw you Chunk Systems.[/DEL] It didn't work for me.

The Mammoth doesn't work with my hot pre-amp.

Couldn't find a site trustworthy enough to order a Mammoth clone (too lazy to build one myself). Also, I couldn't be sure that the clones will work with my hot pre-amp either.

The Oxide is currently on my list. I have owned one before and I loved it. I'm just checking if there are any other gated fuzz pedals out there.

A Mastotron is currently en-route to me. I heard that at extreme pulse width settings, it sounds gated. Well that makes a lot of sense to me since I have an electronic/electrical engineering background and gated pedals basically just narrows out the phase width.
Also there are plenty of trustworthy sites out there where you can source a Mammoth clone.

Lastly people do get called out on slagging more mainstream pedals. JimmyM got his panties in a serious wad cause I called the VT Bass ubiquitous (one of/if not the most popular pedals on TB) and said their users were sheeple. This is still my opinion on that shit box but I keep it too myself from now on. The reason why people don't get called out on Boss, EHX, and other is because lots of people hold poor opinions of those companies. It just depends on how many people can rise up to defend a slagger if they get called out. Not a single person,...not even Mrak Boilsen came to my aid when JimmyM flamed me for my disapproval of the VT.

Yeah,...blows my mind too,...but when you think about it,...people want a cheap lightweight lazy man's alternative to a tube amp.

It has nothing to do with light weight or laziness. It has to do with the fact that my Leeds costs me about one tenth to one twentieth the cost of a Hiwatt amp. Which functionally means the choice between being able to have a reasonable facsimile of a Hiwatt sound, or not having one at all, since there is exactly zero chance I'll ever be able to afford the real thing. And although the price on SVTs is a little lower than a Hiwatt, I couldn't afford one of those, either. Not that I'm a huge fan of the SVT sound.
