is this the setup you used on the new record?
The lower section of the board with the dirt + the whammy and massive amp were always there. Everything else was a revolving door situation. The stuff thats here now covers all the stuff I used on the latest record while saving me space on the board. What I’ve landed on now nails all the sounds. Hopefully it doesn't change too much from here. Lol

On the record i ended up using my DL4, a black russia. Big muff, phase 90, boss od-1 and a rainbow machine.
I might bring the rainbow machine back.

i did research after i came home from work and found that the SPX90 and MV II both run at -20dB so it didn't seem like it shouldn't work. so i did what i always do with a recalcitrant signal train: start with one device and connect each in turn. lo and behold, i got signal through Effects 1. so i continued connecting each unit in turn and confirming that signal was getting through the fx loop until everything was alive. i ought to be able to get fancy and put the compressor and EQ in fx loop 2, but initial attempts failed and i don't care that much today. but the rack is working now.
i'm bummed about the Yamaha situation, though...the SPX90 appears to be toast, and the GEP50's battery is shot which means that i've lost all my user presets which were common to both machines. at this point i'm thinking that the simplest thing would be to chuck the old SPX90, investigate whether replacing the GEP50's battery is worthwhile, and get another used SPX90. i'm not sure it's worth fixing the GEP50, though, unless i can do it at home for free because though there are sellers asking more, realistically it's not worth more than $100-125 and if i use an SPX90 the GEP50 is redundant. but that's a problem for another day. for now, the shit works. whew.
it’s been an adventure getting everything working…raise a level here, then lower the level there that’s been raised by the adjustment to the unit before it, with accompanying tweaks to the mixer’s fx send and return and master volume level. i think it’s pretty balanced now. the MV II is weird in that it sometimes takes a LOT of input level to light the +4dB indicator LED though it’s audibly working and sending a normal level of output to the compressor. i’m not going to worry too much about it. my ears think it’s OK, and i trust my ears.

i tested the next step, which is running multiple channels on the mixer. i plugged the little MOM-D synth box i got from Schlatte into channel 2 and was able to mix the 2 channels together. the logical next thing is adding a drum machine and perhaps a channel for the Mighty Casio. the fact that the mixer has 12 channels means that i should have enough room to add everything i’m thinking of. the M-120 is a great piece of kit…it just took time to figure out.
the size of the rack is a bit much for the living room, and i’ll need to figure out some sort of support for it to use it with the guitar setup. it’ll need to go after the regular board(s) and before the loop board in the signal chain; i may have to put it behind me, partially creating a 4th wall of gear, so i can reach it; it’s a pretty long reach to the space between boards from the stool and it could sit directly behind me, 180° opposed to the main board. on one hand i’m really happy that i’m solving all these questions, but on the other my brain hurts. which i guess is better than the achey hands and arms i had after working on the Hopf.

Its the Native Audio Buffalo Days!
https://www.nativeaudio.com/buffalodays
My buddy Johnny owns a shop out here called Oakland Guitars, he got me into Native Audio's stuff. I like the Buffalo Days cause of its versatility. IT can do more subtle R&B style reverb stabs (which I love) but you can crank it and it'll get plenty gazey (also love). Right now I have it set on the gazier side, but I mess with it all the time.
I also need to update the board pic already.

Aqueduct is gone now, DL4 is back and the massive amp is hidden under my board!

I put together a new board (well... it's my old Pedaltrain Jr frame that wasn't in use since long time) to play with a alternative/post-rock/metal band I joined lately.
Core this mess is the EAE Longsword for main drive/distortion duties (the foot-switchable boost is huge, and can easily transform a low gain setting into a high gain monster). Drop as usual to beef up some riffs, and the trusty Earthbound Throat Locust is there to add some grind and push the Longsword even more. MAE Maybe and Zedvenarossa Ground Licker for some fuzzy spieces, a mini wah (just to fill a gap), and finally Timeline+Multistomp to cover all the delay and effects needs.
