"WOTEVA!"

Post by rustywire »

Yeah so it occurred to me I could probably post what I did over at OSG a little bit earlier:

Image
For a while I had been splitting the signal with a Barber Launch Pad, and when not jumping channels in either amp, I'd have the Quad Reverb setup so the top 2 speakers were dirty (Selmer-driven) and the bottom 2 were clean (Fender-driven).

Recently I've been using the Selmer w/lone 1x12 fully open-back "cab" salvaged from an old Califone loudspeaker/turntable system that I found on trash day. On the top is old masking tape with the words "DO NOT USE" and "NO GOOD" written in pencil:

Challenge accepted.

Sounds killer.

Cant find the orig photo, but here's a resized night shot of the Selmer's glass I considered using for a sig-pic.

It's on the heavy side but I don't mind
The neck kinda feels like a Gibson les Paul but maybe a little wider
Pickups aren't the best but they have a nice punchy sound to em with good sustain

Overall for $579 I really like mine

NEW CAB NEW CAB I GOT A NEW CAB!!!

So after two attempts at shitty bargain basement CL cabs I decided to trade for a Cab... Today I got this 80's Peavey with Sheffield 1290's that RAWK... After a lil cleanin and correcting the phase on one of the speakers I can now say, I HAVE A GUITAR AND BARI RIG!!! The Concert Bass is rippin through it and my neighbor already came by to see what all the RAWK was about... What eves, I'M LOUD AND NOW LOUDER!!! Shit looks SICK with the Sunn and the bedliner paint job... There is a metal grill that I will probably repaint a certain color before I reattach but for now SONI HAPPY!!! :!!!:

Check out my Death Cab For Uglies...

I bought this head and cab for about 230 dollars, it's meant to be for bass, but it growls on guitar also. :animal:

I had an older Concert Bass that Aen sometimes uses but I got this newer Concert Bass on CL with the intent to use for Guitar and Baritone... Until I find a Sunn 4x12L this Peavey will work... :joy:

Almost have tried every amp pairing imaginable from the amps that are in the jam space on bass.

This was one of my favourite pairings yet.

DR103 ran with an OD or Fuzz is insane through the 810. You can really hear the subtle differences between Fuzzes through it, best amp for pedals I've tried yet.... then the 450 underneath for a clean blend and low end through the 215.

Traded a guitar I wasn't using for this today, it's a mid 90's USA model with the Sheffield speaker. Actually sounds really good (and LOUD).
