all right, this will sound petty and stupid after dubkitty's REAL problem, but my guitar just sounds like shit
i actually blame my strings... even though i bought the same 011 Ernie Balls as usual and they're WEEK OLD, E and A just sound ridiculously dull... is it even possible to make faulty strings?

I switched from Earnie Balls to DR Strings. They last much longer and don't seem to wear out that fast. And they are wound much better (I think

)

Sorry to hear that dubkitty. Hope everything works out for you.
My - by comparison - insignificant annoyance of the day is I'm at work. Except, I'm supposed to be off today. I scheduled a vacation day, then forgot about it, and here I am. Because I'm dumb.

i tried DR before and they seemed incredibly overpriced to me. They were the only strings i've broke on regular basis (and i always broke the low E one... what the fuck? ), jsut didn't fit me well...
i tried Elixirs a while back, pretty cool, but too "nice" sounding?

didn't have the edge i was looking for... i also played GHS Gilmours for a while, but they wear out pretty fast. Also tried those Eric Johnson ones - the same problem. I'm happy with EB, i probably just got a bad package
i'm off for new ones in a while... store near me only ha 010 now - whatever, i need new strings

I've been pretty happy with Dunlop 11s...
And Dubkitty, that's rough, makes any minor issue I have seem like nothing. Stay strong, and there are plenty of people here on the forums to help

Fuck Vehicle Emissions Testing.
Intrusive Government Meddling for the benefit of someone's children and grandparents.
I honestly don't see how vehicle emissions testing is supposed to work to keep smog down when you can get a waiver for spending $150 on Diagnostics and Repairs when most garages will charge you more the $150 for a compression test. So you can essentially get the waiver without having any actual repairs preformed,....
Sounds like a scheme to take money out of my pocket and put it into the "Authorized Emission Specialist's" (IOW any garage on the list provided by the Dept of Ecology) pocket, the subcontractor that runs the emission testing station's pocket and create shitty make work jobs.
My car failed the CO2 tolerance by .78 of a percentage point,...give me a break.
I wouldn't be griping if about 75% of my finances weren't tied up in moving expenses. While I'll admit that my car could use a tune up,...it's in relatively good knick,...runs well and has had consistent oil changes and I thought it would pass for registration. Just more money I have to spend on things other then gear or furniture.
:/

thanks, folks. i'm gonna need a lot of help to get through this one. i literally couldn't do anything all day other than talk to my friends/medical people on the phone and eat tranquilizers/sleep. anything else gives me too much time to think. anybody who knows what this is like and cares to write to me, i'd dearly love and appreciate your caring and support. i wish i didn't have to write this. i hate to be a burden. but i haven't any choice.

I was/am in a similar situation dubkitty. just hang in there.
you should love yourself first, and if you love her, let her go.
if she loves you, she'll come back, if not, you're better of without her.
13 years
is a hell of a lot of time, and breaking the habit of having her around will suck.
listening to YT videos of Alan Watts helped me a lot to keep myself together. hth
