It doesn't have to be one or the other... I thought about how cool a Doc would be if someone cruised around and hung with each of us for a week or two and filmed it all...
THE ILF ROADTRIP DOC... It'd be better than 93% of stuff on Netflix...

Hey synthier brethren.
So I have been hard for a MachineDrum for a bit. I am making moves and am going to buy one soon. I am also real interested in the Elektron A4. Super powerful duo right there. So that's about $2100+ (one new, one used).
So spending that much money got me thinking I could buy a used Tempest and an OTO Machines Biscuit (or something cool like that for that much...
What do you guys think? I really don't have an opportunity to try before I buy.
Pretty sure that I am going th Elektron route though

The Minitaur is BASS only so maybe it's lower register than the MiniBrute???

I thought about that, but the problem is chaining them. Whatever key you play on the MiniBrute is what the Minitaur will receive. Granted, I can tune oscillator 2 down an octave on the minitaur, but it seems a little clunky. Minibrute has TONS OF BASS POWAR, I tell you what!
Pretty fucking excited about that new Moog, though. KNOBS AND KNOBS like a synth should have. I would not be surprised if the MiniBrute got replaced this year, too.
BUt the rumor is, this new moog is going to be aorund $1000. And guess who has almost $800 in his Synth Savings Fund?

Hello and happy new year 2013 !
I'm newbie here and in music ; I made experiments about electronic sounds with Electro-Harmonix pedals and 2 synths.
I usually use an Alesis Fusion 8hd and my old analog Roland SH-101.
I'm not a musician but I try to reproduce the sound of the seventies with that minimal equipment ; i made some videos that i shared on social networks.
By example, here, I used a flanger, a phaser and a delay to play with my hands (kick and snare too ==> many many mistakes !) a short song :

or here I payed homage to tangerine dream's Rubycon :

Previously, I tried to show differences between phaser-flanger-delay with vibrato/chorus, with EHx pedals here (it's rather boring, sorry !) :

See that only for the sounds, not for melodies or the bad playing please !
cheers,
thierry

Bienvenue thierry
That 101 sounds great. I don't think the playing was actually that bad at all. welcome to ILF

I'm Robert, from Australia, living round the corner from Sonidero in Austin. Here's some horrible noise I made at his house and my magical board of wonders. I have developed a keen love of fuzz and hope to learn more things from this vast pool of goodness.
