I like Deafheaven. Fight me.
Still haven't got into the new LP. It's okay I guess. But Sunbather sounds like some old, hardly known but newly re-united european screamo band that split up in the late 90s after only releasing a split tape and a one sided etched 12", and have now cashed in by re-uniting, playing a weekend of sellout shows in a 100 capacity phonebooth in Serbia, and making the most pretentious, drawn-out, diluted skramz LP imaginable. The kind of band that dickhead poseurs hadn't heard of in their original form, but will react to the reunion by posting on social media: "<3 <3 <3 this band forever. Reminds me of high school. Why can't I live in Serbia? #emokid" even though the only music they listened to in high school was those WWF entrance music compilations. And that one Creed single. You know. That really shitty one.
Sunbather is a solid 6.5 out of 10 pop-skramz stomper.

Go!
Not Superior but good ... I think Adore is better than Machina

Fact: I have never listened to Deafhaven.
I think it's something I like having no opinion on and watching everybody else have really strong opinions on.
I do like a lot of similar untrve black metal bands, though.
Alcest is the shit, Saor is the shit.

2010-to-present super slick super polished American BM is infinitely more listenable than the original wave of Nordic BM.

Yeah. The clean parts were so boring and uninspired that they dragged the rest of the album way down. Not that they were anything special.

Totes. Though, to be completely honest, almost all deafheaven is uninspired garbage.

It is though.
Note that I didn't say 'better', because that's subjective. I said 'listenable'. It's not subjective, because that first wave of BM sounds awful. Like it was recorded on an answering machine.

I'm a sit on the fence on this one and say I love them both in equal measure.
Today I listened to Wreck and Reference's
Want three times through, and went straight on to
Live At Leipzig twice.
To be honest there is nothing stupider than playing kvlt police.
