I did see them about a year or two ago, it wad a fun show. I think I'll enjoy the Pink material even more than that show though.
Also just got back from seeing Chelsea Wolfe. It took five fucking years but I finally saw her, and it was so worth it. Her music seems to have more weight and density live which i enjoyed. More drone than I would have expected. I was a little bummed they didn't play Pale on Pale, but she encored with Halfsleeper and that totally made the show for me. I love that song.

The Jane Doe set was not nearly as good as the Blood Moon one -- that was fucking transcendent. The JD set was rad, but since I've never been a massive Converge fan (even though they're sort of 'local'/regional heroes) it was just fun to be there watching them play it while I partied.
Weirdly enough I had a more visceral reaction to the JD set. Which I totally wasn't expecting because I don't romanticise that album at all. They were fucking glorious through the sound system on the main stage.

Are you talking about their live set? I saw them when Jane Doe came out and it was probably one of the best concerts I've ever been too.

Only listened for a minute but his vocals sound way off from when I saw them. Weird. I bet his vocal chords are about fried.

I was onstage with them and did vocals to The Broken Vow with Bannon in Detroit circa 2002. He has really changed his style a lot the past few releases--more yell-y, less screech-y.
Anyone seeing At The Drive-In? Going to catch them in Detroit at St. Andrews Hall.

I've never seen Converge live but just about every live video of them I've seen, Jacob was doing this kind of vocals
which I think is the absolute worst thing about the band. One of the few bad things, of course but still

Might of course just be the extreme mic-cupping...
looks like fun performances though

Well, completely awesome. But too long. Cult of Luna is one of my favourite bands, and the set list was perfect, lighting was great, sound was awesome. There was fuckloads of röj. But 2 hours of CoL without even a munute's pause is just too much. It would have been better either with an intermission between the old tunes and Somewhere Along the Highway, or they just should have cut two songs from the set. Dunno which two though as they were all great.
