I've recently started branching out from standard pbr/natty/stones available at Parties/Rugby and learned that I actually like beer :D

So far my favorites have been Oatmeal Stouts/Imperial Stouts- do y'all have any suggestions on bottles or different types of beer to try?

I think my favorite Imperial Stout thats easy to find/not super rare blah blah is Great Divide Yeti. Plain regular old Yeti. I like all the oak-aged, chocolate, espresso version too but just the regular 4 pack bottles do it for me. Also if you like that sweet stuff try out Southern Tier's BlackWater series (Oat/Mokah/Choclat/Creme Brulee[great for dessert, just don't drink the whole bottle, share with someone you love!]) If the Yeti is hard to find or maybe a little too hoppy for you look for North Coast Old Rasputin (also good, slightly more classic)

If you're looking to branch into other styles try out a few porters (I love Flying Dog Gonzo and they make it practically in my backyard, also if you can find it Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald is an awesome favorite as well)

Had Troegs Dead Reckoning Porter last night. Great beer. Made me fart worst than the dog.

I bet we have a similar palette when it comes to tasty beers. I have always wanted to try Pliny The Elder and Pliny The Younger, but I don't think they're available anywhere in Michigan. Some day.

We just got a few different Bear Republic beers into our Whole Foods... all three of them are solid. The Hop Rod Rye is the best, and the Red Rocket is also killer... that's a unique beer for sure. Has a lot of shit floating around in it... still good. The Racer 5 IPA comes close to Bell's Two Hearted here in MI... just not quite.

I'm betting we do. I've never had the opportunity to try the Younger. Apparently people sleep in the street to get a growler (maybe a slight exaggeration, but maybe not).

Glad to see Bear Rep getting good distribution. I really like Red Rocket and Racer 5, as well. Racer 5 on tap was pretty memorable, as it was my first from them, and I had it in their pub up in Healdsburg when a buddy who lives up there wanted to turn me on to the local flavor.

I've heard a lot about Bell's, but I've never seen it here in CA. Perhaps we could set up a trade? I just sent a coupla Plinys to a buddy in FL, and he promises to sent a few Cigar City beer back. Maybe when I get the shipper, we can talk turkey.

I have no money for craft beers...so I'll enjoy a Pabst...whilst I wear a fedora, flannel button up, and italian boots, smoking a turkish cigarette. pic unrelated.

So: bit of a left-fielder but I recently found out that a good friend has a step-son who collects bottle caps. Anybody got some cool beercaps they'd be interested in sending me, to send to him? He lives in Germany, so I'm betting they don't get a whole lot of American brews over there. But no matter where the caps are from, I'm sure the kid would appreciate the gesture. PM me if you're actually into the idea, and I'll think of something nice to do in kind. Maybe a few bottle caps gets you some candy in return, a whole bunch gets you a mix CD... something like that.

Delicious. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but I love the taste wheat beers. Haven't had one I completely disliked yet.
