We did a split with Repellers. I play in Dead Hand.

Working on it. I'm going to strip the finish off my tele and stain the body purple like the darkest cab.

Do i need a 7 string guitar to play doom and standard dadrock stuff? Really short on budget and I don’t have a guitar yet.
You can’t downtune to doom and uptune to E standard constantly right?
I want to buy a guitar, had to give away my old one years ago. I haven’t played in 10 years now. I grew up with Led Zeppelin and some blues. Now I am into Sunn O))), Sleep, Electric Wizard etc. I want to be able to play all of them with my new guitar, in my bedroom. I won’t be gigging, just bedroom instrument hobby. I didn’t want to open a thread for this as a newcomer. I hope this thread is ok to ask.
Btw I can’t decide between an Orange micro dark and a Boss Katana 50 as a bonus question. Glad I found here for doom talk.

I've been playing heavy music in B standard for 20 years and I've never had a 7 string. I do find now that I prefer 25.5" scale guitars for downtuned stuff (and just in general), but I've played on a Les Paul, SG, 70's Japanese made copies and similar 24.75" scale guitars no problem. Just needs heavier gauge strings and a good setup.

How low you trying to go? My friend that I just started playing with uses her one tele for everything and has no problem going back and forth from standard to drop B. Any lower than that is gonna be tough. I don't like to play seven strings personally but if you find one that works for you go for it.

actually drop B looks workable. what string gauges is she using? I hope I don’t have to change the nut, then I can start looking for some good affordable guitars. I was set on buying a PRS SVN but it would be huge hit on my financial situation.

Not sure on the string gauges but I'll ask. If you like the PRS stuff their SE line are really nice amd way cheaper.
