If you've got a Euro power supply you're good. They shipped mine with a US plug and no other options but maybe they're hip to the different supplies used around the world & have separate ones for EU orders? idk

FWIW other than the bolts thing mine arrived in tip-top condition, and I've had a whopping zero non-bolt-spacing problems. Hopefully that's the experience y'all have too

Anywho, I spent about 90 min patching this baby last night & WOWZA, you can get some wild stuff. Mental is incredible!! Hands-down one of the coolest concepts I've seen implemented. The patch points on Mental simply connect different parts of the circuitry (or you can send triggers, audio, or CV into the circuit at those points). A while back I thought about how cool it would be to build a pedal or drone synth that you could live patch, but Mental is pretty much the ideal implementation of that idea. I can't wait til I get the new bolts & can actually attach the breadboard. I just haven't fucked with it because it's hard to put components in the pre-attached patch bay, especially when stuff is already patched.
I will say that I am way happy with the amount of dupont cables they included. I got suuuuper deep in my patch last night and still had about a dozen left over, so I don't see myself having to snag from my stash for breadboarding. It gets a bit hard to patch when you have several close to one another, but the tradeoff is you can have like 50 patch cables without a total all-encompassing spaghetti mess.

Here's a video of my patch last night. I was generating major triad vactrol clangs and processing that thru the Mental (which was also doing its own thing underneath). I was actually very happy with how musical it is capable of sounding, as I'd kinda written it off as a novelty & noise toy (though a wicked one at that).

What're you trying to sync via MIDI? It accepts pitch CV in on the Channel (controls master tuning for all 10 oscs) and sequencer clock CV in on the Motion. Other than that it's pretty much its own thing. Any clock signal that can be sent via CV will work with it though. Perhaps you've got a Volca or a Keystep/Beatstep? Or a Nemesis (I think)? You shouldn't need to buy a module just to convert a MIDI clock signal to CV :p (unless you already have a modular setup in which case only god can judge you & ignore everything I say)

Ughhhh can't wait for mine to get shipped out. Wish I wasn't at the back of the line, it's just killing me. Really hope they properly put in my change of address.

Still cannot get the FX section or keys to do anything. Anyone have any tips just in case it's user error on that?

Also, I'm not trying to complain like I'm super upset. I'm a little annoyed if it is broken obviously, but I have the right.

I was pretty pissed of to see people telling me to wait my turn though. I believe I did. I waited since March. It's not my fault they didn't ship to the other side of the world first. ;) Obviously no hard feelings for any of you guys. I'd appreciate the same sentiment though. I bought something, I want it to work. That's not too much to ask. This is my first modular anything other than Metasonix standalone boxes. So clearly I don't know what I'm doing. That was why I bought this. To see if I was interested.

So, basically I'm asking if you people pay me the courtesy of not being snarky, I'll return the favor.

I don't feel like people were being very snarky, but rather quite rational, albeit with a little tongue in cheek- to you not thoroughly reading the manual and sending the busy builders four emails in a row. If it's broken, you're obviously allowed to vent, but they're maybe saying that you might be acting a little hyperbolic.

I did read the manual. It doesn't make sense to me. That's why I was asking here.

I didn't send the emails in a row either. I was updating them saying "hey I thought this and now it's ok". I thought they ought to know it was using error on my part so they weren't sweating something thinking it was broken. At the same time I was asking them, does this look correct because I had parts come off in my package. I would hope anyone would be concerned. I paid almost 500 bucks for this, so when I see busted off caps, I immediately freaked. That and the misaligned holes. I feel like my emails, questions and concern are justified. Not hyperbolic. In fact, I'm insulted you'd insinuate that.

Also, I hope none of you guy who are overseas get anything with snapped off stuff.

As you can see here (if you chose to look), it's working from what I can tell. Still can't figure out the fx section. Read the manual, did what it says or what I thought it said, don't get it.

Sorry to hear about your woes, JWAR. I've been following this thread on and off and from what I read, it seems to be a pretty poorly run company, or at least this was a poorly managed project.

That said, I would love to see you document your woes and frustration in your new VLOG. It would be comedy gold I'm sure. Also, if other's are interested in joining in, I would be willing to chip in a few bucks to cover your expenses of the unit, to see you smash it on your VLOG.

Let us know.

I'd smash it for sure just for fun! I do like the thing but whatever!

So you actually watched my vlog? LOL! Good to know!

I don't see why some folks don't understand my frustration? I mean, there is a lot of moving parts obviously with something like this, but some people are acting as if I was done a favor by being sold something. That doesn't make sense to me.

That's not how I and apparently everyone else read it. That's the problem with written interaction vs face-to-face interaction. Didn't mean to insult you.

Folktek got back with me, was super professional and kind. They are going to replace the module if it is in fact broken, which they can determine by looking if the caps are missing from the board shots I sent them.

So, I'm happy I contacted them. I also apologized for being overly persistent and explained to them that I own a small business and was not trying to hassle them and hope that all is well. Kate is who I've been talking with and she's been great.

I got nothing modular up to now, the mescaline will be first.
but I do have DAW(s) and a Circuit I might wanna sync, maybe the Ditto as well.
So I guess I'd need a box with MIDI in from DAW/Circuit, MIDI out to Ditto & CV sync to Mescaline
or the other way around...

It is also quite possible this will only get (re)figured (out) once everything is here and played with...

On another note:
I finally got a mic for my clarinet :!!!:
it works much better for notes with most holes covered but...
low E into Reverb->OC2-->Fuzz->Reverb and I'm Blade Runnering away
