360. if i'm in a mission & i get killed it just restarts the mission from wherever i walked into the area. "continuing" after shutting down and starting up again, or exiting & returning to the game, it always starts me at one of the safe checkpoints (town-like areas where i can buy & sell) or at the base of a radio tower i've activated.

Yeah, that's what I found in Hitman on the PS3 as well. It partially nullified the need for a quick save in my opinion. That's the limitations of a console.

Playing Fa Cry 3 as well at the moment. you might think that liberating outposts and killing pirates with a knife might be boring ehen you have to do it that often, but it is just sooo much fun!

haha totally! I didn't expect to like that game but it's awesome, one of the coolest games of 2012 in my opinion as a spectator.

All three Far Cry games are fantastic. The first one was revolutionary and sparked a whole new outlook on FPS games. It had the most gorgeous graphics, the coolest locations, the most challenging and natural enemy AI, and physics that had not been utilized to such effect before. It was so ahead of its time. An open world game like that in a jungle-enthused island is just genius. And Far Cry 2 was almost as good. It had its flaws, such as driving and the constant respawning of outposts you had five minutes prior destroyed, but its flawless AI, stunning graphics, amazing little details like fire that spread, healing by pulling out bullets, upgrading weapons that were falling apart, etc. all made an excellent sequel. Far Cry 3 is even better. It's a perfect blend of the first Far Cry and the second, but with some modern, more entertaining elements that kept players coming back over and over. For an offline non-RPG FPS game, this is an astonishing achievement that doesn't happen often, even with games as good as The Last of Us or Gears of War.

I should go through the other Far Cry games, I've only watched #3. It was almost mesmerizing though, I watched it nonstop for a couple days, loved the game play and graphics and story and Vaas was amazing.. what a game!

I'm currently loving October on twitch.tv.. lots of guys are focusing on horror games and it rules, tons of old ones and new ones and lame ones and I love 'em all.

I like watching horror games, but playing them is too much for me.

i want a sniper game. focused entirely on sneaking & sniping. it's one of my favorite things to do in fallout, hitman, far cry... not a fan of call of duty thanks to the annoying little brats online, & never got into its main game... any suggestions?

(also despite the story being cool & the bad guys being very well done, i'm not particularly a fan of the main story to far cry 3. way more fun for me just exploring and taking back. have already finished all outposts & flash drives, haven't quite decided if i'm gonna clean up all the loot & relics...)

Sniper Elite 2, good times. There's more sneaking than this video suggests.

You can shoot Hitler's balls off in the DLC, no joke.

Sniper Elite was disturbing to me. The bullets going through Nazi heads and seeing them shatter their bones, it just felt... completely, unnecessarily vicious to me. But then again, I love GTA and Hitman sooooo...

i've already gotten all the weapons, you get them from radio towers, not relics. unless it's different where you are...

Nope, every 10 relics gives you one of those signature weapons. With the towers you get the regular ones for free, but the signature weapons kick more ass!

ahh gotcha. i'd already bought the guns i gave a shit about right off the bat before learning they became available w/ radio towers, all i'd caught looking stuff up online was that. & looking it up now, only two of those come from collecting relics. others from outposts, memory cards, all radio towers, trials & letters. i didn't know there's still one i haven't gotten yet, don't particularly give a shit about the weapon but will still go do that... not even sure how many letters i've found...

ah ok. I've finished the story today and all missions/outposts. Don't know if I will search for the letters and remaining relics. Or maybe I'll start over again and just leave the story alone and liberate more outposts :)
