I sorta intended this for non pedal related stuff...I mean you can say "I dig muffs and delays" but yeah...it feels weird saying
"I want XXX pedal with XXX transistors in XXX finish"
I was surprised that there was so much focus on pedals...did people get a lot of pedals last year? I would think that's at the upper/rarer end of the gift spectrum.
Some victims are hard to stalk, so this was meant as sorta a mini cheat sheet but not a definitive gift thread.

I know you did not mean it in that way, but it still felt strange to have a post telling someone what I might and might not like even if I tried to keep it as non-specific as possible. But I totally feel you that it can be hard to find out about someone, which is why I came up with the idea of posting a list of people that might know what I am into. Actually, I want my 'victim' to do the same.
I think that last year everybody got some noise making device. I am not positive if it was all pedals, but i am pretty sure it was all in the general vibe of the stuff we love here. Of course it would not be the High-End stuff but everybody came up with some way to find a nice old noise maker as a give-away. Some pedals are in the price range new, or some people built stuff themselves, others found something in thrift stores or in their unused pedal drawer. I do think most of us scraped at the 100$ last year or even went over. I think there was some complaining about that, so at least I will try to find something just as badass without spending that much.

I wear L shirts, like non-fiction books, and would be more than happy with anything. I just look forward to the surprise and trying something new. I collect albums, Ive been looking to get some Joy Division, Fugazi, Godspeed, or Jaques Dutronc (tryed to just list some different bands to show the scope you could possibly work within) on vinyl. I love getting into something I'm not familiar with so it most certainly doesn't have to be one of those bands. I love movies and I love all different kinds. I like documentaries, Korean revenge, speghetti westerns, horror, and surreal movies. Some of my favorites from those categories to give an idea would be Cave of Forgotten Dreams, I Saw The Devil, Fistful of Dollars, Dead Ringers, Brazil. I'm currently reading The Elegant Universe and just finished The Book of Contemplation. Pedals are my most favorite things in the world! This is kind of embarrassing but I've never gotten to try any Fuzzhugger pedals and don't currently have a splattery, velcroy type fuzz. Set on phasers but that's it. I'm open to anything no matter how crazy and narrow scoped!
I did this last year and it was awesome! It was a lot of fun and this year it's looking bigger and better. Thank you Eric and Adrienlee for setting this up. Very much appreciated.
I hope that isn't too specific, I tried to keep it broad and general, seems like people are frowning upon this thread, I don't much care... You can use this or not, if you don't wanna use this thread than don't, if you do than do...

I don't get the problem with how many hit the $100 mark. I understand if a person spends $100, yet their SS spends $50, you might feel jipped or something, but that's something you need to consider. Isn't it about making the person you're gifting happy? Just don't spend a lot if you're going to bitch

cause you prob shouldn't have spent it anyway.
But yea, I think I'm going to edit my "wishlist" as I prefer the surprise of getting something I hadn't even thought of.

Some of the best gifts I've ever gotten were things I'd never considered. There should be enough in my posts to give you a clue about what I like and have. That said, if my Satan (or anybody in general) feels like they're at a loss they could always get the Secret Satan overlords to ask their sacrifice to post in this thread.

I think everyone got some sort of pedal. I think it was in the "rules" last year.
Yeah I agree as far as a mini cheat sheet this works. putting down specifics prob is not a good Idea.

Also Stalking IS most of the fun with this. I have combed through most of my victims threads so I can get a good Idea who he/she is (we all know its a he). maybe a better Idea would be to drop hints in your posts to let you SS know the kind of shit your into. This thread has made the pedal part of my gift EASY!

I am not sure, but I think most of the complaining came from people that spent less and then they felt embarrassed. Which is a notion I can understand and that's why I will try to find something equally badass for considerably less money than last year.

You either give a cool gift or you don't...shouldn't be about the money.
100 is steep...I'm doing SS on a few boards and among personal friends, not to mention regular christmas gifts for friends/family.
Not that my person is getting the short end of the deal...I've got some epic stuff planned. But I doubt it will top $100.
Put some thought in, give what you can, make it special/tailored for your victim and everybody wins.

This.
and homemade gifts can be worth millions. I got a good example of that a couple years ago on my b-day.

This is all true. That said, I come from a family where people shit bricks if you don't give them a list of exact specifics of what you want.
Of course, they usually disregard about 50% of the list and come up with crazy unexpected stuff on their own.
Personally, I'm just stoked that ILF is so full of cool peeps that this kind of thing (a Secret Santa type thingy) is even a possibility in the first place. Whoever my Seekrit Satan is can get me whatever and I'll probably do a happy dance of joy.
When I found out who my target / victim was, I scoured both the wishlist and their posts. I think I've come up with a pretty decent little package... hopefully they will too!

Arrrgh this is so tough. I will say that this year I would LOVE some sort of pedal, or at least something I could use musically.
I wear size med/large. If it's big then medium. small or shrinkable then a large.
I love modulation. I play bass so I suppose that is something to keep in mind.
I do have alot of effects including fuzz. OD and tremolos are 2 things I dont really have locked up, but I would love anything I can use honestly. Please don't feel I'm saying that's what I want!
Killer unique fuzz ALWAYS rulez!

I love shit unique, modded, you know...secret shit nobody around me has!
I am a Cubs fan.
You can always ask Eric and/or MagicLawnChair if you have any questions.
Baaahhhh...I still feel douchey!

and the rest was up to them
