do it. I've been wearing them at shows for a few years now and thought it was making a huge difference. Then I started wearing them at practice as well. It sounds stupid but not coming home with ringing ears is something I hadn't experienced in the 15 years or so I've been playing in bands.

When people say "Orange tone", I think of two very different things: OR120 and Rockerverb 100. But always OR120 first because it's just a better amp in almost every way and the original Orange construction and hallmark. That's just my opinion of course. YMMV and all that jazz.![]()
you're totally right. the 6v6 cleans and the gainy crunch are nothing like what you get in the classic orange tone. but the cleans are never gonna match up against my hiwatt (and eventually a JTR), and the gain I can get out of the markV puts the orange to shame. In general I'm not a big fan of high gain anyways - when you play loud enough you get ear drum distotion, so who needs amp distortion anyways. I'm really happy about the trade (and if the mesa doesn't work out I'm sure I can sell it for more then I would have gotten for the orange, right?
). I've never owned an amp for such a short period.

Achtane wrote:Yeah, it really does feel like yr ears are distorting.
Maybe I'm uncool or whatever, but it really bothers me when shit is so loud that it messes my hearing up, even if it's "temporary". I gotta start wearing earplugs or something.

AngryGoldfish wrote:I didn't even know that amp ever existed. To be honest, though, it doesn't surprise me. Orange have released a lot of amps over the years, most of which are just reissues or slight variations on old designs.
