yea it was not the easiest but it works. Did some low volume tests. The series the coil taps is cool. Its kind of like u get the bridge sound but the low end of the neck. not as much output as just bridge but like a different EQ

Interesting. I was contemplating wiring schemes on the dirge telemaster, was thinking of swapping bridges with the MEC and putting in a noiseless tele bridge p/u then wiring a coil tap / series / parallel for the neck humbucker and a 2 way p/u selector (due to the output mismatch i don't think a neck + bridge selection would work out well)..

u could series the coil tapped HB with the tele bridge. That is comparable.

With 1 single coil in the bridge, and 1 HB in the neck you could do the following things:
1. Bridge
2. Neck.
3. Bridge and Neck Parallel
4. Bridge and Coil Tapped Neck parallel (inner coil)
5. Bridge and Coil Tapped Neck series in phase
6. Bridge and Coil Tapped Neck series out of phase.
7. Bridge and Neck Series in phase
8. Bridge and Neck Series out of phase
9. Bridge and Coil Tapped Neck parallel (outer coil)
list could probably go on but i would do what seems logical, feasible, and sounds good

i find parallel combinations to be useless but something like the following would be nice.
1. Bridge.
2. Neck
3. Bridge and Neck Parallel
4. Coil Tap Neck
5. Bridge and Coil Tapped Neck Series

Has anyone directly compared 1st gen and 2nd gen (red knob) Sunn Model Ts? If so, did you prefer one to the other?
I owned a Verellen amp based off the first gen Model T, so I am familiar with that. From my understanding the 2nd gen has a baxandall tonestack. So I assume it would sound somewhat different.

its got quite a bit different going on in it. There is a active mid range control on the gain stage after the baxandall, and the gain is lower overall. I do know a friend who owned one and liked it.

Sorry bout that, he's an old troll from around here and I wasn't about to let him come up in our well kept doom room and start some shit without a fight. My apologies my friends, just trying to look out for my brethren.
nothing to be sorry for man

just was weird how persistant that guy was. Dude needs some treatment with a shrink.

I find parallel really useful for single note work (licks / lines / solos) as it boosts low end, output, and presence, but it makes chords get muddy real quick, and that is where series shines. I'm probably going to stick with the just neck p/u only wired in series /split/ parallel using an iommi for now in the dirge telemaster. If i need bridge p/u sounds the tele custom is always right next to me on the rack.

Thanks bro

Yeah, ain't the first time I wrestled that bear unfortunately. He won't give up easily, but i keep forgetting that like a stray if you feed him he returns. And yes he does need psychological help, I mean did you see the "who is thebeerhammer" thread? He made an alt and gave it a personality, that of a radioactive beer
