This is very cool and throwing a spanner in my budgeting.

Is this finally THE flanger all minimalist dudes like me have been waiting for. PROBABLY. I think I may have found myself a birthday present (mid-October).
In regards to expression capacity, I believe the knob best suited for an EXP jack in the DEPTH. fade in sweeps, change step mode on the fly, or change the direction/intensity of the envelopies. AND this would allow for manual foot flanging. YUP.
Also really curious how this will sound in a fredback looper. ESPECIALLY dynamic mode.
