bass demo preferred.

I shipped it off to DOS

He plays bass though!!! So there is hope!! I want to build myself one after playing it. The germanium added a lot of bite and the starve was pretty cool. I'm sorry I didn't record demos first, I meant to but I was rushed the morning after and shipped it off before I thought of it again

So it arrived, but since it arrived to where my gear lives (which is not where I live in the winter) I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. Hopefully going to remedy that in the afternoon, but it could be a fortnight--everyone loves President's Day week.
Any clips will be fairly lo-fi, but I'll be sure to hit y'all with my impressions anyway.

Glad to hear it arrived safely DOS
I wasn't home all weeked, so I didn't get much of anything done at all.
I did wire up Mathias' LEDs for his monster pedal before I left Saturday:

-All the true bypass wiring is laid out on the_carl's Little Big Muff, I need to install the LED and look into adding the tone control instead of the 2 way switch. Just a matter of potentiometer value I think in that. Going to be a tight fit trying to get the board in there with the 3DPT. Need to look on the tone bypass and see where on the board I need to do things.
-Took the WSG apart last week because it wasn't working correctly. The SHO is installed as well as the power starve, but I'll be redoing the wiring for the second time to see if it solves anything. If it does not, I'm not sure what to do.
-Need to take a photo of the enclosure and my thoughts for space6oy's pedal.
-Need to take a picture of the wah enclosure I have.

Ok, so.
I don't know how familiar y'all are with the stock 250 reissue, but it's a one-trick pony. With the gain at ten and some boost in front of it you get that Al Cisneros early OM thing going, with the gain dialed back/not so much boost you get a tighter type of crush and rattle, but nothing you do is going to change the pedal's initial character--it's squarely in that CLASSIC RAWK mode of vanishing into the mix while sounding great solo'd. If you're covering Variations on a Theme, it's one-stop shopping. If you're not, there are some things to be desired. It loses a bunch of low end. It has no LED. It inspires mimicry, not innovation.
It should be noted that the amps I use are "classically voiced tube amps." Not trying to be a douche or a humble bragger, but when you're discussing dirt these things are important.
So, with our ears appropriately attuned to various loud crushing crush noises and the bands that make them, the DIRGE 250 was born. It has more low end. It is a whole lot looser. It has a starve for that "super hungry" tone. It is bitey, but surprisingly low gain--this is probably due to the fact that it now has more low end, so you hear more than just BZZZT BZZT SCRAPY CLANK CLANK DUZZZZZZZ. It's grown up a little bit--it doesn't thow down at the Distortion Social Club as much, but instead it sits at home and fasts and meditates on how weirdly blurry it sounds now that its balls have dropped. It is now an always on.
And it stacks like a motherfucker. I'm throwing it behind a Supercollider, and it melts faces. It takes the smooth malts of a Steroid'd Big Muff and throws in fifteen bushels of hops. What sounds like super zoney, echo of empty space, hotdog down a hallway low end on its own turns into body rattling juevos. And that's at unity volume. I haven't had a boner this hard since I watched two chicks go at it in a filthy basement while I was off my tits on E.
Shit is awesome. Will try to get some clips, but that's a 50/50 proposition at this point.

Pretty rare that you get a really strong understanding of a pedal purely from the description and review. Well said man.

I got this guy in a trade from a dude in the UK, any clue as to what it is sir skully? It sounds fucking rad, like a more tweakable gloom drive. Super loud, seems to have from left to right, volume, texture?, input gain, and another gain knob. Flip switch engages a gate, and the left footswitch triggers oscillation.

I'm bummed I only had ten minutes to fiddle with it before I drive back home.

It's like your Stampede but without the SHO in front! I made them VERY close to each other
It's two Gloom Drives that cascade into each other, the switch selects if there is 1 or 2 glooms in the circuit. You're spot on with the knobs!

I thought it sounded similar. My Stampede has a some more bite to it, more compressed, and can't get as low gain and crackly. Definitely different enough to keep! And I'm so glad as a builder you embrace those silver knobs, they're my favorite. (pedal geek)

Yeah I think between yours and this one I figured out for sure the component values when I stack gloom drives now. The first circuit uses components that are a little bit different in value to stack more easily!
