There's an X-tortion in the BST - dunno if the price is good, but the pedal is rad.

My Pedalocks showed up in the mail today, and I was able to install them in about half an hour. They make swapping Boss effects on my all-Boss board a total sinch, I'm thrilled!

I've removed the velcro from all of my Boss pedals, and now I just click a pedal off the board, then click the new one in.

Worth first mentioning that my DD-3 is one of the early ones, built with the same 'long chip' found in the DD-2 (and the DSD-2/DSD-3).

The tone of the long chip digital delays is pretty unique. The decay is brighter than an analog delay, but also decays with a gradual tonal roll off, similar to the way repeats decay on an analog delay. I sort of think of it as a half digital, half analog sounding delay. The repeats are definitely not the exact digital copies you get from later Boss digital delays.

Over time I've managed to snag all four long chip Boss pedals, and they all sound exactly the same. It's good to know, because the DD-2s tend to cost a fair bit more on the used market. If you're looking to give one a try, keep a lookout for an inexpensive DSD-2 or 3.

I've only tried two digital boss delays. My PS-3 and my DD-7. You know the PS-3. The repeats on that thing are crazy bright. That's probly my least favorite delay (on guitar) that I've ever used.

I like the DD-7 a lot. The normal delay modes sound too bright with dirt to me but I love it on clean sounds.

The DM-2 has to be my favorite delay I've ever used though. It's not the most entertaining thing to play around with at home but nothing has ever worked so well for me with my band. I can see you have a thing for the DM-2 also

Yep, I love the DM-2. It just sounds great at every setting and is so easy to dial in. I often set it as a thickener and just leave it on most of the time.

In terms of brightness with the long chip digital delays, they're definitely less bright than typical Boss digital delays. I really like their stock tone. That said, both my DD-2 and long chip DD-3 are modded with Analogman's three way tone toggle. The toggle darkens the repeats (one setting is stock, next is a little darker, last is a little more dark). With the toggle at its most dark, the DD-2 sounds a lot more like a DM-2, yet still has the long digital delay times. It's a great mod!

Analogman will do that mod to pretty much any Boss delay, so you could look into getting that on your PS-3.

Dude, the Dimension C is my favorite chorus of all fucking time. It's ridiculously good.

I think I'm slowly developing an affinity for old boss pedals, they're just so straightforward and good sounding. FZ-2, BF-2 and RV-3 are never getting bumped off the board.
Got super lucky on a package deal- VB-2, DF-2, DD-2, PH-1r, CS-2, PSM-5 and CE-3 in a case for $500, all literally unmarked condition.
I would never pay the ridiculous collector prices for some of them so works out good, could probably make most of that back just on the VB-2

I always consider selling my DD-7 but never go through with it. Even though I have two other delays, it is just too handy not to keep.

-I love doing super long delay times with lots of feedback for drone stuff, it just creates such a cool atmosphere.
-The really short delay time gives me this cool clangy overtone, that's kind of like a ring mod but not quite.

Also the reverse is pretty dope and just fucking with the knobs while it's on creates some cool sounds. It isn't my favorite delay but I think everyone should have one.

Enjoy that VB-2! I love mine. I was using it more than usual this week and reveling in how good it sounds.

Nothing could replace my RE-20.. not timeline, not el cap nor eqd dtsr.. it just has to be under my foot. Best tape (i don't care much about its sound authenticity to the real one) delay sounding pedal to my ears.

yeah it's pretty ridiculous how much people will actually pay for them. Last one i saw sell went for $380 but it was kinda beat, average asking price is about $500
i could probably separate it all and double what i paid. I'll probably keep the ones I like enough to put on the board and put the rest up for trade here on the cheap though
