I absolutely love love love the Books, they changed my life man. Although most of Nick Zammuto's guitar lines are just a shit ton of edits in Sony's Acid and weird playing with studio gear. He does a lot of filtering with his guitar, so a static filter and something like an 8 step can do a lot in getting his weird sounds.hotknife wrote:Thanks @D.o.S. and behndy![]()
Grats, mang. I just checked out The Books and really dig what I've heard. Spent way too much, but I'm still holding out for a Mid-Fi sale as well. The Eristic wrote:Snagged a Possessed and Context. Hyped like crazy, as I literally just want my guitar to sound like The Books and have been waiting *ages* for a sale at TF. Almost bought a Raptio, too, but already have a Superego and was/am holding out for a Mid-fi sale before blowing the rest of my wad.
Well, this Dope Priest is literally The Perfect Muff.MechaGodzilla wrote:Just bought an EFE Dope Priest, green russian version (apparently). The EFE build ethos is right up my street, I can't wait to compare it to my Fredric green russian (current fav muff).
I don't currently play bass, but do have an 8-string guitar with active EMGs and a 28.625" scale length tuned to drop E I tinker with at times. Not entirely the same, I realize, but it could serve as a frame of reference.UglyCasanova wrote:You wouldn't happen to play bass by any chance? Almost ordered one of those as my main OD. Would love to hear some bass clips.
Awesome! Thanks for the recommendations.Inconuucl wrote:I absolutely love love love the Books, they changed my life man. He also builds a lot of weird sound makers and instruments, so there's that. Here's some of his shit, it's pretty interesting!

That was badass. Dude is creative as fuck. Those filtered pops and clicks in the scratch video are so pleasing; very ASMR. Going to playlist the Books on youtube while I finish up some late night paper work.Inconuucl wrote:

If I hadn't blown most of my proverbial wad on other gear, I would have gone for a Dr. Scientist Bit Quest, which they appear to have in stock.
