I use a Madbean Afterlife Compressor- it's a DIY build but I love it. It's not squishy or any of that bullshit, just straight sustain and leveling and lets you really pick out details while playing

engineer's thumb would be the DIY compressor to go for nowadays. Go check out some demoes on that one.

this is also moving.

do you find that one adds any high end to your sound? i've tried a few compressors and they've all done it. Thats one major reason i've never bought a compressor even though i've tried a few in the shops and a few of my friends.

you can always have a treble bypass on the compressor to avoid swamping it

Yeah a little bit. But it's more 'clean up the mud' than add highs, if that makes sense. It cuts through my Big Muff and actually lets me play dynamic chords without turning to mush

Nice! Cool to see Pike using moar pedals. Sucks he's not using the SLOs though.

Screw you guys and your compressor talk, because now I kinda want one.

Fuck compressors, compress these nuts.

Okay I just wanted to say, I really don't even hear the difference. Maybe because I already have mad sustain haha

mike in YOB always runs some kind of compressor before dirt. Seems to be part of that sound he has.
